An Evening in Prague

President Mr. O and First Lady Mrs. O have landed in Prague for the evening, where they're rumored to have scheduled a romantic dinner date. The First Lady wears another fantastic little black dress, paired with the bolero (or cropped sweater?) worn last evening.

is she gonna wear the same black dress to dinner tonight? maybe to show that, after all the fashion hoop-la, she is still down to earth enough to not need a constant wardrobe change
Have just seen the picture and I love what I'm seeing. Very envious of her beautiful body. Re:designer choice Michelle is a confident person. She will not be told by anybody what she should be wearing. I've sometimes start off not liking what she's wearing but end up loving her gustiness of her choice
Cool can't wait...I'm actually enjoying watching her many different outfits. Though some of her outfits I would never wear but she seems to pull them off and is having fun wearing them all.

Ugh, seeing how great she looks in this formfitting black dress she got off the plane in makes me want to go to the gym. Now. Right Now. lol
Michelle Obama's style, beauty, and grace can match or exceed anyone she meets. She is representing herself, husband, and country with excellent taste and class. In my opinion she stole the spotlight from the French Presidents' wife. Michelle Obama's height and figure gives her a regal presence and her confidence, warmth, and intelligence is the icing on the cake. Bravo!

I heard on the news this morning that they were going to for go the state dinner and have a private dinner instead. I don't know if that is still the plan or not. Did someone hear that there would be photos made public?

We can ALL hit the gymn, run, jump, skip...WHATEVER! BUT, we can't compete with those oh so loooooooooooong legs - they go on for miles and miles.
I think Mrs.O is very aware of her figure, and so as not to draw too much attention to it when at "official" functions with her husband, she chooses to go with the A-line or Ballerina skirts instead. Imagine her in a full length fitted gown, ppl will be like, President Who? Oh, yeah that guy!
Looks even better up close! I totally see why the haters hate on her for not wearing stocking. She doesn't have to! Her skin is so pretty she doesn't need to hide and blemishes and bruises.
The next overseas trip is right around the corner! It’s the Summit of the Americas. It takes place April 17-19, in Trinidad and Tobago! I see lots of colorful and fitted dresses! Lots of sleeveless in the hot island son! Michelle and Barack are going to mobbed! They love them all over the Caribbean! The whole setting makes for some exciting fashion choices! I can see her ocean blues and bright yellows and hot pinks and bright tangerines!! Oh, I cannot wait!

just have to say I have really enjoyed this blog...FLOTUS is an inspiration and even if I cant rock the de$igner duds I get so many ideas of things I CAN do on my budget and using what I already have :D
Incidentally I'm from Trinidad and Tobago - which is in the Caribbean known as the Greater Antilles, and the weather right now is HOT! We have two seasons - Rainy & Dry! So Mrs. O can wear as many sleeveless, strapless, tube tops here and we wouldn't blink an eye! It is for the most part pretty and sunny - a little like Hawaii, so it may be familiar territory for them both.
And I am soooooooo looking forward to seeing them both!!!
This will be the highlight of my YEAR!

I've always wanted to go to T&T. I'm gonna make commitment and do that next summer. I'm not certain if Mrs. O is accompanying the President, but I don't see why not! And yes, over there, folks seem to be more relaxed about women embracing their curves and wearing clothes that show them off. It's like Trinidad is the perfect place for Mrs. O to show off her signature colorful body skimming style.
And I can totally see them sneaking out to get amongst the people and going to a restaurant and whatnot?

Comfort with style and most items can be mixed and matched for different occasions.
And yes, she makes the rest of us 45 year old gals with kids and hips very proud!

I am shedding tears of joy, as a black woman I didnt know we could be the object of desire especially in a respectful and examplery manner that Mrs O i showing us.
Now I too can look at myself and believe that I can be beautiful, dont get me wrong I am beautiful and I have been told, but I never really believed it, I never really had a role model. Until now with Mrs O, she is accessible, she is so real, she is stylish and intelligent, everything I aspire to be.
I can look my own wardrobe and put together SOME of the simple looks Mrs O so easily puts together and wear my clothes with an air of confidence and believe that I can be beautiful as a black woman and embrace my beautiful skin and my beautiful hair, because Mrs O has shown that it can be done. My two favorite outfits of the trip have been two black ones -- the dress last night and this ensemble today. Perhaps it reflects my urban outlook, but I think she looks the most chic in plain colors, not in prints. I admire her willingess to mix it up, but these two outfits really show how formidable she is (I use it in the French sense).
Also, it's funny how Michelle's presence has reduced Carla Bruni to looking girlish (and there is NOTHING girlish bout Mme Sarkozy, as any woman in France will tell you.) Both her gray calfskin goat by Dior and the violet coat by Chanel look very jeune fille. That has to be calculated on her part to contrast to Michelle. I'd love to know the palace intrigue about her decision to go so demure.
I second eM - what a lovely city for a romantic dinner. The old town of Prague is magical.
I've been checking JCrew.com (and other sites) for some 3/4 length cardigans in great colors, and now I feel glad to have bought several cashmere cardies on clearance this past winter. Of course, here in Minnesota I can keep wearing them . . . Now for come cute skirts! I just love the way Mrs. O "works" her wardrobe, as most of us have to (or should be, if we knew how). I am getting some great ideas!
For favorites, I fell in love with her outfit last night - the dress and bolero were
lovely and stylish. Good for Mrs. O to wear French in France! I am one of the fans of the JCrew sweater, and loved the coat Mrs. O wore to see the Queen.
Mrs. O did the USA proud. I am thrilled that she made a great impression in Europe.
Now, that is how you wear a cute black dress. The split in the back is just sexy and classy.....Our President knows he has a winner. Looks, brains, class and I cannot wait to see her in RED!
Mrs. O looks fabulous! I see Trinidad and Tobago is becoming the next buzz and there were media reports galore that she was attending. I hope so! I would love to see her in prints, flowers, sleeveless summery wear. It's just for the weekend so maybe she'll go but so far the White House hasn't confirmed.
According to Politico the Obamas are in their hotel as of 8:20 pm and they called a lid for the night. That's where the press pool gets to call it a day. So maybe they're having dinner at the hotel??? And a romantic evening in their room?
This is what love looks like! Just to know that Mr. President would like to have some private time with Michelle tonight is so refreshing. Love is one thing, but being appreciated is in a total different realm......I love the love that they share, it shows.
I'm really enjoying watching Mrs. O and her fashion choices! I think she shows the thinking woman's style, w/o any snobbery, and does a great job of it!

Does anyone know who designed this black sheath dress? It looks like it has a little give or stretch to it that really hits her curves perfectly. I need a basic black dress like that..GOT TO HAVE THAT BLACK DRESS!!!!

Wonderful! This is a much better cut for her than the flouncy skirts. And you cannot go wrong with black. I wish she had worn this little number instead of the tired isabel Toledo dress to the dinner in London.
Looks like she officially retired the pearls, too. All good.
She ends on a high note (I think it's just the Prez in Turkey). I've been critical of her, and I hope some of you who uncritically worship everything she wears and scream "Leave Michelle alone" when anyone points out that she made a mistake.
her staff obviously monitors the reaction to her appearances and made adjustments between London and the Continent. She's wearing dangly earrings, she's wearing more black, a more sophisticated cut. Her hair is much more flattering.
In London she had a wierd hairstyle that went straight up about six inches and made her tower over the little royals. This is pretty and soft and plays up her strong features and classic bone structure.
She has a big staff and they get paid to make her look good. I think they dropped the ball in London but got some advice, feedback, etc and gave her a bit of a makeover and quite possibly fired whoever was doing her hair.
when she looks good, I'm going to say so.
And when she puts on a clown suit, I'm not going to say, Wow! she's really working the big red nose! She's having fun with the floppy shoes! Love love LOVE the fake boutonniere that squirts water!

You make a lot of great points and love your "in" list, but I also liked some of the "out" list for the simple reason that I love experimentation and risk. However, I would prefer for Mrs. O to take the risk while here in the US and be less daring abroad. The only London outfit I truly loved was deplaning in the yellow Jason Wu and Kors duster.
However, the British press is in flat out love with the clothes she wore, even that teal and argyle cardigan. I saw TV network footage of the girls from the school saying how stylish it was--multiple girls loved it. I couldn't believe that. British vogue loved it too.
I like dissenting views here b/c I'm learning a lot. But I truly think she was dressing for the location..I really do. But I hope some who agree with me will lobby to bring Maria Pinto back. I know someone in her staff would pick up on it. There wasn't one dress she did that I didn't like on Michelle. Pinto knows Mrs. O's body and does color extremely well.
Maybe this black dress is Maria Pinto...anyone know?
And another thing, I loved her hair when she was visiting the queen. It was a very sophisticated style. Michelle without bright colours? No way. I wouldn't want her dressing like everyone else, she won't be Michelle that I like. But then, that's my opinion

so basically you want Mrs O to look like any ordinary boring political wife....no risks, no out of the box thinking. What made the Brits go gaga over her this week was her being her self and that meant being different and daring.
I loved everything she wore in the UK....even that weird blue cardigan...I loved the daring and the risk taking.
I love this black dress...I think she looks phenomenal in it...I hope she never sticks to traditional, usual, ordinary fashion.
