A Pretty Pin For You

Dear Readers,
It's hard to believe this little blog began in September 2008! The first lady and her dynamic, ever-evolving style continue to draw us here in celebration and admiration, even two years later. On a personal note, I want to thank each of you for your ongoing support and contribution to this blog. Your comments and insight make it what it is. (Case in point: without reader "marky mark," the internet wouldn't be buzzing about Mrs. O's latest Marc Jacobs frock!)
In honor of the holidays, and to say thank you, I am giving away a vintage Hattie Carnegie silk brush pin, similar in style to one that the First Lady often wears. Pictured above, this vivid green gem is 4 1/2" inches in diameter ... an accessory for the bold! It is in stellar vintage condition, save for a slight faded spot on the enamel center button. You can see Mrs. O wearing her orange Hattie Carnegie pin here or here.
For your chance to add this Mrs.O-inspired pin to your jewelry box, please add a comment to this post. I will select the winner via random.org on December 24 at 9pm EST. Please check back then.
Happy Holidays and THANK YOU! xoxo Mrs T
Update: Congratulations to Megan B. who posted comment #163. You are the winner, picked via random.org. I will email you shortly! Merry Christmas to all!

love this web-site--love michelle's sense of style--i check it out every week....would love to wear the pin. of course, winning the pin would necessitate shopping for a new outfit to put it on! oh, no, not that!!!
Nothing like this blog on the internet
The pins are one of my favorite parts of Mrs. O's style. I will be happy for whomever gets the chance to own this piece of Mrs. O's glamour!
I would love to add such a lovely piece to my collection. I think that, like I was, the First Lady was fascinated by things in the jewelry boxes of her older relatives when she was a kid.
Love your blog and the fashions of Mrs. O! I actually purchased the cardigan by GAP that the First Lady wore when she had lunch with Former First Lady Nancy Reagan. I'd really like to win this pin.
Thanks!
I love Hattie Carnegie's pieces. I have a silver pendant of hers that I've worn since 1971. And although I know Mrs. O can carry off this floral pin better than I can, I'd love to own it!

I love this website! It is a bright spot in my day. While I can't afford these clothes, I can admire them on the First Lady. Her style is a breath of fresh air in the White House.

This is one of only four blogs that I have bookmarked on my bookmark bar and follow religiously. Thank you so much for this fantastic journal of a fantastic first lady's style.
I love great clothes, especially when worn by someone as fit and beautiful as Michelle Obama. Somehow also someone who has so many things going, intelligent and not afraid to also look sexy and fantastic!!! Thanks for giving all of us who are interested a way to keep up with her style.

It is also a brief glimpse into the life of a phenomenal American woman. I am inspired by her commitment to public service. Although I don't comment often, I look forward to visiting the site every evening. I applaud your dedication and hope my name is the one you pick for the pin!!!! Best wishes for continued success.

Merry Christmas & A Bright & Prosperous New Year.
Oh, I would so love to win this lovely pin. More than that, I would like to thank you for doing this blog. As someone who started reading Vogue at an early age (decades ago), I'm surprisingly unfashionable. However, I do know good fashion writing, and you've got it. Whenever I hear someone trying to comment on some mainstream fashion article about Mrs. O, I just sigh and send them here. Have a wonderful holiday!
You are so generous! The pin is very chic and would be a perfect year-round wardrobe accessory. I enjoy following Mrs. Obama's ever-changing bold style. Your website is extremely well done and is the first place I look to see her latest fashions. Thank you!
Oh come on! This is so exciting! I was inspired by this blog and Mrs. O to start collecting vintage pins and here is one up for a holiday giveaway! Wow!
