A Pretty Pin For You

Dear Readers,
It's hard to believe this little blog began in September 2008! The first lady and her dynamic, ever-evolving style continue to draw us here in celebration and admiration, even two years later. On a personal note, I want to thank each of you for your ongoing support and contribution to this blog. Your comments and insight make it what it is. (Case in point: without reader "marky mark," the internet wouldn't be buzzing about Mrs. O's latest Marc Jacobs frock!)
In honor of the holidays, and to say thank you, I am giving away a vintage Hattie Carnegie silk brush pin, similar in style to one that the First Lady often wears. Pictured above, this vivid green gem is 4 1/2" inches in diameter ... an accessory for the bold! It is in stellar vintage condition, save for a slight faded spot on the enamel center button. You can see Mrs. O wearing her orange Hattie Carnegie pin here or here.
For your chance to add this Mrs.O-inspired pin to your jewelry box, please add a comment to this post. I will select the winner via random.org on December 24 at 9pm EST. Please check back then.
Happy Holidays and THANK YOU! xoxo Mrs T
Update: Congratulations to Megan B. who posted comment #163. You are the winner, picked via random.org. I will email you shortly! Merry Christmas to all!

Merry Christmas! Thanks for the sharing your love of Mrs. O's style with us.
Love the pin, though my mother would love it even more!
Thank you for ranning this website. Am a big fan of the First lady and I have been checking in on this website everyday since it opened in september 2008, more than I do my email or facebook :-)
A suggestion though, can we add a picture on the comments, it would be nice to see fellow mrs-o admirers. :-)
MERRY XMAS & HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!
Merry Christmas!
I have been following this blog from the beginning. I have recommended it to all of my Mrs. O-loving friends. As a dressmaker I have interpreted Mrs. O's styiings in my own personal wardrobe as well as for clients. As we all know, "accessories make the (wo)man" and this pin is no exception! The pin is gorgeous. Here's to an absolutely delightful blog - an inspring and astounding FLOTUS - and to all of us who love & support them both: Happy Christmas to all and to all a chic, well-styled New Year!
I would love to own this pin. My mother-in-law just passed away and her jewelry box was a treasure trove of wonderful pins like this one - my favorite - A yellow metal daisy with matching earrings! Happy Holidays to all of the Mrs-O blog readers!
Love the pin and love that this blog allows all of us Mrs. O fans to see and enjoy her impeccable style.
As a male admirer of Mrs. O, it would be an honor to win this lovely piece! It would be cool for the winner to submit a pic of them wearing this pin. Happy holiday to all and thanks Mrs. T!!
Lovely pin, I would love to win it. Love the blog. Thank you!
I love coming to this site to read about and to see photos of Mrs. Obama (and her family). Thank you Ms. T, for being supportive of our First Lady!
If I were to win that beautiful pin, the Color for my Easter Sunday 2011 outfit would be determined!
Merry Christmas everyone!
I enjoy reading your blog daily. Keep it up. Happy Holidays!
Regards, Christine

Love this blog! The first lady's love of pins and the coverage on this site has given me the courage to start wearing my grandmother's rhinestone star brooch. Happy holidays!!
That is so lovely. Thanks so much for writing an entertaining and inspiring blog!
Love the pin and your website - look forward to the second term!
Thanks for such a beautiful, relevant and inspiring blog. Keep up the great work!
Your website is awesome! It's my treat to open it up and see what our fashionista First Lady is wearing. She has definitely made a difference in fashion for American women, letting us know it IS OKAY to buy stylish clothes in any price range and look your best everyday! Phyllis
Well, it's my first comment but if you follow the stats, I'm a great fan of your blog, merely because, dear Mrs T., that, even in Paris, France, where I live as a French woman, you bring me happiness joy and pleasure in such a way you couldn't guess, because here everything seem to me so dull, so boring. So, thank you very much.
Mrs O. gets a smart and thoughtful and delightful way to wear clothes thouroughly made for her scuptural and feminine body shape. I admire her fine sense of combining fashion feminity and cleverness with a big dash of humor that never hide her serious and commitment to essential matters, like the food safety initiatives. Best wishes for a wonderful holiday season and for a happy new year, full of gorgeous Mrs O's outfits and ideas !
How beautiful! I love wearing large statement pins on my peacoats in the winter. Looks like something my grandmother would have worn. Thank you for continuing your awesome blog!
The first two things I do every morning: brush my teeth and scour the web for new Mrs. O pictures!
Love the pin!!!! and also Ms. O's style. As a latina, I really enjoy how she plays with lots of colors, even when the season call for darker garments.
Thanks for giving me a daily stop off to be inspired, while I sip my morning coffee .
Michelle Obama is FANCY, HUH!!!
I read this blog every day and am grateful for the effort that goes into it. I lost my job in July, but know that Pres. Obama's leadership and Mrs. O's influence for good will bring us to prosperity again.
I read a horrible post on another forum about Mrs. Obama's figure. It was distressing and racist. That she is able to rise above criticism and continue to inspire us is remarkable. I pray for her and her family every day.
May all readers enjoy the beauty and blessings of this season; and may 2011 bring us hope and joy!
Love your blog. Wishing all a wonderful Holiday Season.
Love this pin!! Hope I win!! I absolutely <3 this blog!! I check it EVERY day!!

Good Morning Merry Christmas to Mrs. T and all Mrs. O bloggers...........This blog has provided a lot of inspiration to me in more ways than one. I am from the Caribbean and colour is a significant part of our lives....BUT....FLOTUS has certainly shown me a thing or four on using colour and style to make a statement. She has given me inspiration to exercise and become fitter and she has inspired me to become more giving in nature. She is indeed a phenomenal woman and I dream of meeting her one day even if it is when she is no longer FL. Her genuine nature shines through and owning something that is representative of her would indeed be a tremendous honour.
simply chic!
Thank YOU, Mrs. T! This blog was the first one I got involved with, and it's become a welcome part of my day. I've made new friends (including you!) that I know will be part of my circle for a long time. And, no matter how rotten the day, nothing puts a smile on my face like MO in a great outfit!
Happy Holidays to you and yours - enjoy your first Mr & Mrs Christmas!
A fascinating pin! I am astonished that so many of this vintage pin have survived since the 60s.
For those of us who don't win this pin, others are available here in various sizes and colors for $240-280:
