Remarkably Fabulous

First Lady Mrs. O is attending the opening ceremony of the 121st IOC Session at the Copenhagen Opera House this evening, wearing a gold dress with fitted bodice and full pleated skirt, adorned at the neck with a trio of brooches. Gold accessories and a soft chignon give the look an extra dash of polish.
This ensemble has officially taken our breath away. Head to toe fabulous!
P.S. Any ideas about this dress? We thought it might have been Isabel Toledo, as suggested in the comments, but that's not the case. We must know who designed this beauty!
Update: It is confirmed, Mrs. O wore an orange lame pleated dress by Rodarte. Hooray!

Love the shoes with the lemon meringue dress. Where, oh where, is a pic of the shoes with the cognac one? I think she should have a designated shoe photographer (maybe one of the secret service guys could do double duty?). Love her recent looks though I, like some others, prefer her in a sheath a la the Jason Wu electric blue.
Sylenna & JerZ,
Thanks for the help with BEAT. I agree, Sylenna. We need a slang dictionary here. I'd love to catch up on what's going on out there. My life is poorer for not having close gay friends at the moment. We should enjoy more of their contributions here.
FABULOUS! Small point which is that it's a shame the armhole looks too cut away to me.
i'm sorry, but the dress is beautiful, but it is not a good style on her body type
the dress is Rodarte!!!
@phoenixgirl
Why don't you think this style dress fits her body type? She has a small waist which is nicely accentuated by the belt and the pleats, and the fullness of the skirt "hides" her curvy backside for those who are offended when it is not hidden enough. A shorter person would look ridiculous in this style, and someone who was skin and bones would look either emaciated or swallowed up by the design. It's all a matter of opinion, but I was wondering if you saw something that most of the rest of us do not see.
I check this blog several times a day, but I have only been posting recently. However, IMHO this is the most stunning outfit she has ever worn with maybe the exceptions of the Time, Inc black gown and the one worn for the governors' ball. Perhaps you might change your mind if you were to see the video someone posted which shows her getting out of the car assisted by TBG.
It is, indeed, by Rodarte:

Based on the Wikipedia info, the dress Mrs. O wore when she hosted Queen Rania was also by Rodarte: http://mrs-o.org/newdata/2009/4/23/pleats-and-pearls.html.
Thanks for the tips re: Rodarte. I'm waiting to confirm with the press representative just to be 100% sure. Will keep everyone posted!
Great color on her and really like the classic fit and cut of the top. Wish the skirt was a little more tailored to show off her figure.
So far, I love the two dresses MrsO wore from Rodarte! Excellent choices!
Wow! Rodarte again. This is wonderful. I love how she embraces new designers. Looking at the Mulleavy sisters collections you would never think "Oh, maybe the First Lady would wear this", but it goes to show you how open minded she is about fashion. They must have made this custom for her because I haven't seen anything like this in their collections.
*Sigh* I guess this is what happens when a website becomes successful and popular. You get a bunch of losers like Linda H. spewing hate for no reason. I have a strong feeling most of the people posting these ugly troll like comments are the same person. But whatever. I'm just going to ignore them from now on.
Mrs. T, please remove Linda H's comment. It is beyond offensive.
Might I be so bold to suggest a "Report this comment as offensive" button being added to this site?
Love, love, love Mrs. O!
@phoenix what exactly is Mrs. Obama's body type? I just don't get some of the comments made on this board..*major eye rollage*
The shoes.... the shoes... Has ANYONE seen the shoes???
As usual, Mrs. Obama hits a home run. A first-rate first lady. Stunning.

This has to be my favourite dress (so far...) that the FLOTUS has worn. Words fail me...the colour is perfect, the cut is perfect. Just perfect, perfect, perfect!!
