Sunday Best

Photo by Carolyn Kaster / AP Images

The Obama family attended Sunday church services at St. John's Episcopal Church in Washington, DC today. For the outing, First Lady Mrs. O rewore a pressed daffodil-printed Jason Wu dress from Resort 2011, last seen here. Lavender flats and a double strand of pearls completed the look.

Later in the day, the Obamas watched the World Cup soccer game between the U.S. and Japan from the Treaty Room office in the residence of the White House. Reader Charlene in Detroit has helped to identify Mrs. O's floral print halter top, which appears to be MM6 by Maison Martin Margiela, available here.

Curiously, New York Magazine observes that both the Jason Wu dress and Maison Martin Margiela top were last worn on the same day, March 22, 2011, here and here, while the First Lady traveled through El Salvador. Perhaps Mrs. O's wardrobe is rotated on some sort of schedule?

Better Homes and Gardens

The First Lady graces the August cover of Better Homes and Gardens, wearing a sold-out (online at least) Chalet bouquet dress from Talbots. A buttercup yellow cardigan and embellished belt complete the look. Inside, an article will focus on the First Lady's Let's Move initiative.

From the press release:

In May 2011, the magazine joined the First Lady in Washington, where they co-hosted a picnic for area fifth-graders that featured kid-friendly dishes inspired by vegetables grown in the White House Garden. The in-book feature includes an extensive interview with Mrs. Obama as well as a vibrant photo spread of the day.

"The First Lady is honored to be the first person in decades to appear on the cover of such a beloved magazine," said Kristina Schake, the First Lady's Communications Director.  "She is thrilled to share the story of the White House Kitchen Garden and Let's Move! with the millions of Americans who read Better Homes and Gardens.  Through the garden tips and healthy recipes, it's a story that demonstrates that the tools for a healthier future are fun, easy and delicious."

Cheery O

The First Lady cheered as the first pitch was thrown at the Washington Nationals and Chicago Cubs game in Washington, D.C. yesterday. The game was dedicated to Joining Forces, which meant children of military service members were able to join Mrs. O on field. One lucky kiddo even had the chance to throw out the first pitch. No wonder Mrs. O is cheering so enthusiastically!

For the event, the First Lady sported a circle print top, cropped pants, gray Converse sneakers and a wrist full of summer-staple Jordan Alexander beaded bracelets.

Update: Mrs. O wears a printed silk and cotton knit top by Duro Olowu. Duro Olowu has certainly become a staple in the First Lady's closet!
