Better Homes and Gardens

The First Lady graces the August cover of Better Homes and Gardens, wearing a sold-out (online at least) Chalet bouquet dress from Talbots. A buttercup yellow cardigan and embellished belt complete the look. Inside, an article will focus on the First Lady's Let's Move initiative.
From the press release:
In May 2011, the magazine joined the First Lady in Washington, where they co-hosted a picnic for area fifth-graders that featured kid-friendly dishes inspired by vegetables grown in the White House Garden. The in-book feature includes an extensive interview with Mrs. Obama as well as a vibrant photo spread of the day.
"The First Lady is honored to be the first person in decades to appear on the cover of such a beloved magazine," said Kristina Schake, the First Lady's Communications Director. "She is thrilled to share the story of the White House Kitchen Garden and Let's Move! with the millions of Americans who read Better Homes and Gardens. Through the garden tips and healthy recipes, it's a story that demonstrates that the tools for a healthier future are fun, easy and delicious."

Mrs. O looks wonderful.
YAY! Back to the basics...lightweight summer sweater and wide belt accent this sweet dress which echoes a chambray feel.
You look fabulous once again, Mrs. O! Keep up the great work.
Swooon!!! ...Brains, beauty, and body.
I'm loving it!
Aaawwwh Summer SWEET! What a refreshing look! beautiful photo of her advancing her cause - Eat healthy and pass it on to our children. I am on the hunt for the magazine, if it is on the newstands yet.
Beautiful! And such an important message! LOVE HER!!!!!
Oh! She looks lovely. Every inch the First Lady as well as Mom-in-Chief. I want that dress for my garden party next weekend!!
Nice summer dress, great colors. I like the dress with a belt, I just don't like THAT belt, but that is just me. She still looks great :)
Although this dress is sold out, the same print (chalet bouquet) is still available in skirts.
Love the Better Homes and Gardens cover. Love Mrs. O’s outfit. She is such a pretty lady! Notice how her face just lights up when she is surrounded by children.
Peace.
Yay, more Mrs. O! I like the cardigan and dress pairing - style and color. Any details on her shoes and earrings?
Is her belt photo-shopped? It looks like she's not wearing it in the photo with the kids.
Either way she looks great. You go Mrs O!
Mrs. O's hairline is very different in the two photos, too. Definitely looks like some PhotoShop changes were made.
I read recent story about Kate Middleton's wearing of nude stockings. A Yahoo story which also noted that Mrs. O rarely wears stockings. I am Black and always found it difficult to find nude stockings for my complexion. Any suggestions, readers?

Mrs Obama could have been a model. She's gorgeous and has an amazing smile.
Our First Lady did it again. Face is flawless, makeup is Fresh and Fabulous!
I saw this dress in Talbots in April or May and immediately thought of our Michelle! The store display had it paired with a green belt and pink cardi. It seems that even the retail stores are no longer playing by the old rules. Mix it and it will match! High end designers have been doing this for years. It seems that now we can see how this translates to everyday women and how it can look on us. I like that!
This is such a beautiful cover of our FLOTUS.
@Mrs2s: Why would you wear nude stockings if your complexion is not like Kate Middelton's? This is a personal choice for each and every woman. If KM choses not to go bare legs, that's her choice.
First all, she is much, much thinner than Our First Lady and I don't know if she is taller. So maybe she can find a better fit . But even with that, if your legs are too, too skinny they can look baggy at the ankles.
My suggestion would be to go for color as close as possible to your skin, not KM, or FLOTUS. And, my personal opinion is KM can wear panythose as much as she likes, that does not mean it is bring brought back. It never left for some women. As I said, that's her choice.
But, ahh, Our First Lady legs are to die for....shapely, toned, skin-tone is perfect. So why be bothered if you do not have to? I am African American, also. God was so good to me in the legs department. I only wear pantyhose, as I mentioned before, if I absolutely, positively must.
So, KM, do you. The rest of us will stay bare-legs and instead of trying to "match up" a nude color just because KM wears them.
Thanks to Our First Lady, I will not follow fashion styles, if it not comfortable for me. That's is only one reason I love this lady so much.
Is that belt the one that goes with Mrs O's cafe au lait chiffon pleated dress, first worn at one of the DNC caucus events - she'd turned the belt around so that the detailing was at the back?
Our First Lady looks Fantastic on this cover.
Her make up looks Fresh & Fabulous yet again.
Keep up the good work!!:)
This cover makes me proud and the works our First Lady supports.
