A Crown Jewel

After a meet and greet with the royal family, the President and First lady met with Britain's Prime Minister David Cameron and his chic wife Samantha Cameron at 10 Downing Street. The Obamas also received a special tour of Westminster Abbey. Quite a day!

For these events, Mrs. O changes ensembles, wearing a delightful mix of jewel tones on this occasion. The First Lady wore a punchy purple dress featuring a draped neckline and black chiffon trim. The dress was paired with a vibrant blue coat and jeweled belt at the waist. Navy black pumps completed the look.

Per Red Carpet Fashion Awards, Mrs. O wears a dress by Roksanda Ilincic from the designer's Pre-Fall 2011 collection. Ms. Ilincic is a Serbian-born, London-based designer with a growing presence in Mrs. O's closet! The First Lady last wore Roksanda Ilincic for a White House reception to welcome President Hu of China in early 2011. Mrs. O's blue double wool crepe coat has proven to be the fine work of Narciso Rodriguez

For those interested in Samantha Cameron's choice, the Prime Minister's wife wears a Spring 2011 dress by Peter Pilotto, also a Mrs. O favorite!

A Royal Affair

Well, if reuniting First Lady Mrs. O and the Queen weren't exciting enough, let's throw Kate Middleton (make that Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge) into the mix! Oh my goodness!

For this historic occasion, Mrs. O has chosen a delightful dress. The mint hued floral frock is the gorgeous work of Barbara Tfank, from the designer's Resort 2011 collection, seen here. A pink cropped swing jacket also by Barbara Tfank and jeweled brooch complete the look.

A note on Catherine: Grazia UK reports that the Duchess wears the Shola Bandage Dress from high street retailer Reiss. More on the dress, here.

Update: On the jewelry front, Mrs. O wore Phillips Frankel amazonite and ruby earrings available at Fragments in New York. The pin is a 1940s Hobe brooch from House of Lavande.

Electric Blue

Photo by Chris Radburn / AP Images

Ahead of schedule, the President and First Lady travelled to London this evening to avoid travel complications from the Icelandic ash cloud. Arriving at Stansted Airport, Mrs. O deplaned in a stunning mix of colors and print, debuting a sleek electric blue skirt suit paired with a geometric print top and green kitten heels. Cathy Waterman earrings added a punch of orange color to complete the look. Love!

Update: Per Red Carpet Fashion Awards, Mrs. O wears an ensemble by Preen from the label's Fall 2011 collection, which was inspired by the Northern California Arts and Crafts movement. The choice is noteworthy, as Preen is a London-based label designed by Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi. To my knowledge, this is the first time that the First Lady has worn Preen for a public event. Perhaps it's a sign that Mrs. O will be making a sartorial nod or two over the coming days?

Mrs. O in Marc Jacobs

A gusty day in Dublin gives us a better view of Mrs. O's dress! The First Lady wears a Silk Circle Jacquard Dress by Marc Jacobs in a marigold and berry retro geometric print. The dress hails from the designer's Spring 2011 collection.

After a trip to the village of Moneygall, the President and First Lady were back in Dublin to address a crowd at Trinity College.

A Toast to Ireland

The President and First Lady enjoyed a pint of Guinness at Ollie Hayes pub in Moneygall, Ireland this afternoon. The visit involves a bit of family heritage: President Obama's great great great-grandfather, Falmouth Kearney, hailed from the village of Moneygall in County Offaly, Ireland.

For the second appearance, Mrs. O wore a geometric print dress paired with an easy-fitting sandstone trench. Easy and chic!

Unfortunately, it looks as though the President and First Lady's trip to Ireland will be cut short. Originally scheduled to spend the night, the AP reports that the couple will fly to London this evening as ash from an Icelandic volcano moves toward Europe.
