The first lady spoke at the Clinton Global Initiative this afternoon, focused on best utilizing the skills of military veterans and their families in the workforce. "Today I promise to continue to use my platform as First Lady to bring people together around this issue. I'll work to spark not just a national conversation, but national action to give our vets and military spouses the opportunities they deserve," said Mrs. O. For further reading, click here.

Mrs. O's dress is from the Moschino Cheap And Chic Fall Winter 2010 collection. The first lady debuted the dress for a Mother's Day luncheon in May 2010.

Applause Please

The first lady is in New York City today, at the UN headquarters to hear the president address the United Nations General Assembly. For the event, Mrs. O was seated next to Yoo Soon-taek, wife of United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.

On a style note, the first lady's dress du jour is a purple print sheath, adorned with a floral pin at the collar -- perfect for a balmy day in the midst of changing seasons. The dress is by Peter Som, from the designer's Fall 2010 collection, seen here.
