Opening Act

First Lady Mrs. O spoke to dance students from the Duke Ellington School of the Arts and the Joy of Motion Dance Center, as they rehearsed a segment from the Broadway show 'Hairspray' at the White House today. For the event, the first lady wore a pale green, lightweight pant suit, paired with an Erickson Beamon techno deco belt.

Update: Mrs. O's matte jersey pant suit is designed by Stephen Burrows. And the official word on the much-debated color? Sunrise Yellow.

Weekend Retreat

The Os are off to Bar Harbour, Maine for the weekend. First Lady Mrs. O headed for Marine One with her family earlier today, wearing a ruffled gray tank, cropped black pants and black sandals. A blue tote completed the travel ensemble. Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!

P.S. I'm curious about Mrs. O's tote, as she was carrying a lime green version in the same style earlier this week. Does anyone recognize it? Oh, Chrystelle is on it! They appear to be Lambertson Truex canvas totes, as seen here.

Update #1: After a hike through Cadillac Mountain yesterday, the Os continued their exploration of Bar Harbor, Maine. Today the first family visited a Coast Guard station and tower nearby, where Mrs. O debuted another vacation ensemble, pairing a hot pink tank with cropped white pants (which matched her eldest daughter no less!).

Update #2: And they're back! Mrs. O arrived home at the White House yesterday wearing a printed Tracy Reese sundress, comprised of various gray tone circles.

Good Day Sunshine

First lady Mrs. O attended an event about the Affordable Care Act at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC yesterday. For the event, Mrs. O wore a summery white and yellow print dress. Gold bangle bracelets completed the look. The first lady seems to have a penchant for abstract patterns as of late!

Update: Rachel Roy confirmed on Twitter that Mrs. O was wearing her Cadmium Draped Floral Dress yesterday. Rachel Roy has certainly become one of Mrs. O's go-tos in recent months!

What a jam-packed day for the first lady! This morning, First Lady Mrs. O spoke at the the 101st annual NAACP convention in Kansas City, Missouri, focusing on her Let's Move! initiative. For the event, Mrs. O wore a black and white polka dot ensemble -- the top, featuring sheer sleeves, was an inverse print of the coordinating skirt. Both pieces are by Jason Wu.

Update: Mrs. O accessorized her first ensemble of the day with a pair of stunning Mary Esses earrings. Hand-set in 18k yellow gold, the earrings feature dangling, pear-shaped, deep green quartz stones, accented with bezel-set diamonds and baguettes of pale green beryl. A close-up of the earrings is featured below.

Later in the day, Mrs. O ventured south to Panama City Beach, Florida, where she met business and tourism leaders to discuss how the Gulf oil spill has impacted the region. For this appearance, Mrs. O changed into a black blue and white floral top and pants. The drawstring top is from the Thakoon Pre-Spring 2010 collection.

Two Weeks in Review

Hi Friends! Thank you for all of the wonderful comments, and for being so understanding of my absence from the blog during my wedding and honeymoon. Many of you have been kindly posting links in the comments to Mrs. O's various appearances, but I thought we could all use a quick catch up of the first lady's recent events in addition. Mrs. O debuted a few fabulous summer skirts below, which I'll work to identify this week.

Hope everyone (in the U.S.) had a great July 4th holiday. While the wedding and honeymoon were quite magical, it's good to be back!

July 3: The President and First Lady Mrs. O returned from Camp David, where they spent part of the July 4th weekend. Mrs. O paired a fabulous green print skirt, featuring oversize stud trim, with a white tank, metallic flats and gold accessories. Her lime green tote added a final punch of color.

Update: Thanks to the always reliable chrystelle for informing us that the skirt is Comme des Garcons. A similar version can be seen here.

July 4: On July 4th, Mrs. O wore a fittingly patriotic ensemble, pairing a red, white and blue wrap halter top with white cropped pants and ballet flats.

Update: The first lady's top is Suno.

July 6: Mrs. O met with Mrs. Netanyahu, wife of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in the Yellow Oval Room of the White House. I believe the dress is the same Narciso Rodriguez tulip patterned frock that Mrs. O wore on the campaign trail in 2008, also seen on the cover of the Mandi Norwood book "Michelle Style" here.

July 7: The first lady appeared at an event at the Treasury building, where Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner spoke at the economy and 2008 financial crisis. For the event, Mrs. O paired a white top and cropped cardigan with a fabulous metallic floral skirt. A thin silver belt at the waist and magenta heels completed the look.
