Must Read Mrs. O

Some of you may enjoy this Politico piece, which makes predictions about the first lady's campaign wardrobe as she hits the political circuit in the weeks ahead. (Look for a few of my picks in the story, too.) Hope everyone is having a great Monday!

Weekend Getaway

Image by Saul Loeb / Getty Images

The first family spent the weekend away at Camp David -- hopefully a relaxing, fall retreat for the Os! Mrs. O debuted two, new casual ensembles while traveling to and from, including an inventive lace-back top, seen in the second photo above.

Update: In the top photo, Mrs. O wears a Lion Crest  top and Houndstooth cardigan from the line Lolly by Obvious Clothing. Lolly is designed by Chad Kimball, star of the Tony Award winning musical Memphis. The first lady attended the musical with her family this spring, and later invited Kimball to sing at the White House for the first family (to air on PBS, October 20).

A Hidden Alaia

Official White House Photo by Lawrence Jackson

A lovely photo taken during the U.N. Summit last week has surfaced, featuring President Obama and First Lady Mrs. O posing with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uruguay, Luis Almagro, during an event held at the Natural History Museum in New York City.

It's of particular note sartorially, as Mrs. O wears an Alaia dress, similar in style (though shorter, v-neck and red, here) to the gown worn for the Nobel Peace Prize gala in Oslo last year. A stack of bangles and a statement brooch at the center of the neckline complete the look. Thanks to reader Faith for sharing this gem!

P.S. Does anyone recognize the other woman pictured? Would appreciate a bit of help if we have any readers from Uruguay!

Mrs. O on AOL Health

For those who miss their daily dose of the first lady, have a peek at the video above, in which Mrs. O discusses the inspiration behind Let's Move with Jennifer Fields of AOL Health. For the video interview, the first lady wears a coral colored sheath dress with diagonal seam detailing, accented by a magnificent vintage brooch at the neckline. Thank you to the reader who suggested the video last week!

Update: Mrs. O wears a dress by Jason Wu!

Have a Little Feith

First Lady Mrs. O met with students today to tour an herb garden at Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture in Pocantico Hills, New York. The group was also joined by spouses of other political figures in New York City this week for the UN summit.

For the garden affair, the first lady wore a wisteria print dress by Tracy Feith, paired with silver pointed toe flats. The dress was first seen in January 2009 for the inauguration, and has made a lovely reprise here.
