Summer Sunshine

The President and First Lady departed Senegal for South Africa earlier today. Boarding Air Force One, Mrs. O wore a yellow and black floral dress paired with a cropped black cardigan and multiple strands of pearls.
Update: Mrs. O wears a floral jacquard dress by designer Lela Rose, as seen here. (Thanks to Mrs. S for the tip!)

I really like this outfit. The pearls are an inspired accessory.
p.s. I like these extended trips.
What an exciting time for fashion. I bet that when Mrs. Obama started out as an older sister, student, lawyer, professor, mother, and politician's helpmate, she had no idea that her incredibly good sense in taking care of people, intellectual capacity, and maintaining a healthy and dynamic outlook would be pushed to the forefront by her unique style.
Love it!
Our First Lady stuns. I am finally losing weight and I can't wait to start wearing fun clothes inspired by Mrs. O! She inspires me every day. Thank you Mrs. T for this blog....it is so thrilling for me each time you post something new!
Loving the looks on the first lady for this trip. Whether casual or dressed up she never fails to draw admiration.
A very pretty dress on Mrs. Obama! The pearls are a nice finishing touch on this dress. Thank you Mrs. T!
Beautiful dress; would be perfect for a Saints "Who Dat" party! LOL
@ Mrs. Nakajima, Mrs O is the youngest of two children.
I wonder if that is a Barbara Tank dress, it's cutesy and sweet.
Soccer Nana, Thanks for correction. I am glad our First Lady seems to have elements of the persona of both an older and younger sister, and am so glad that we have a National Treasure in this woman. Of course all photos are probably approved by someone in governmental media, but we have such a positive image of her role in our First Family!
Tropical inspired print.
I believe this is Lela Rose.
The fabric of the dress is stunning. It is worth clicking on the link in the description above to get a closer look at the jacquard, which has a lovely shimmer to it. The V-cut of the neckline is oh-so-sharp and she wears it well. Pearls would not have been my first choice, but the First Lady has a beautiful slender upper torso and the pearls pop and make a statement without taking away from the dress and black bolero. I love the look on her.
@Jestina, this does indeed look like Barbara Tfank! Lela Rose, who knew?
FLOTUS is on fire, this is her silhouette. I like the vibrant color on her and don't get me started about those pearls!
Our President is a lucky man!
