Diwali at the White House

The First Lady hosted a celebration of Diwali, a five day Hindu festival, at the White House on Tuesday. For the occasion, Mrs. O wore a dusty rose cashmere tank and embroidered skirt, both by Naeem Khan. The ensemble, from the designer's Spring 2009 collection, was previously seen here. A garland of jasmine flowers completed the look.

Exquisite!
I love this outfit. Amazing way to wear beading for daytime.
This looks better the second time around. My neighbor is Hindu and we had the pleasure of his seeing his lights each evening.
So appropriate for this occasion!
Dusty rose. Deep blush. New neutral. Very pretty color on Mrs O and even prettier in cashmere. The beautifully embroidered skirt, a modern American tribute to the sari.
Oh, I always liked this one and it's so appropriate to wear an Indian-American designer for Diwali. Is this the first time the White House has marked this event? Mrs. O always looks fabulous in Naeem Khan.
So gorgeous and evocative of Indian dress.
All around amazing woman!!!
