The First Lady visited the Democratic National Convention stage inside the Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte, North Carolina today, a day before she is due to address the convention audience. For the appearance, Mrs. O wore a graphic print mint, tan and white dress paired with colorblock pumps.
For the 2008 convention, Mrs. O wore frocks designed by Maria Pinto, Peter Soronen, Rodarte, Tracy Feith, Narciso Rodriguez and Thakoon paired with accessories from Erickson Beamon and Moschino. Any bets for 2012?
Update: Above, Mrs. O wears a DVF "Porsha dress in Cable Squares Lime and Cable Squares Mink" from the Resort 2013 collection.

MRSO looks apropriately dressed for the occassion. I would guess this is a DVF dress.
Lovely as always. Michelle Obama, you are a trendsetter for many political spouses, prominent women on the national stage, and many young women across the country. Your internal beauty is your best asset and i pray God continues to bless you.
I would have given my right arm to have someone like Michelle Obama to look up to when I growing up. She truly is a wonderful woman and will leave an amazing legacy after the President completes his second term. I wish the Obama's all the very best in the run up to November.
Looks great...is that dress DVF?
What a beautiful dress, and a beautiful woman! May I hazard a guess at the designer of this dress? I think it looks like a Dries van Noten, a designer she last wore on a State trip abroad to, I think, India?
Agree with Justina's comments 100 percentage
I believe that dress is a Tracy Reese.
I am really looking forward to seeing her tonight. Also, as a Sikh and longtime lurker of this site, I just want to say that it meant a lot to me when Michelle visited Sikhs in Wisconsin. Makes me cry every time just thinking about it.
She looks fabulous. As I wait for her speech tonight, I was thinking about Ann Romney and Janna Ryan. Both are attractive women, well spoken and well dressed. I have no criticism of their wardrobe choices during their convention. In fact, Michelle could have worn any of the 4 dresses that got the most attention those evenings. The difference is she would have taken the looks to another level, with a brooch placed unexpectedly, shoes in a surprising color, a cardigan with embellishment. She never plays it safe, and she makes every look her very own. Fashion is cyclical, so sleeveless sheaths would have been here now if we'd never laid eyes on MO. Her gift to fashion for the last 4 years has been lifting an inevitable style out of a catalog, or off a runway, and turning it into something uniquely her own. And, she has inspired millions of woman to do the same thing. She rocks in my book and I cannot wait to see what she comes up with in the next 4 years!
Also - tonight feels a little like an anniversary to me. When Michelle walked on stage in 2008 I thought, "Who is THAT?" I could not get my eyes off her, and it's been pretty much the same story every day since then. I know a lot of the long timdiscovered here discovered her around the same time. And Mrs. T, bless her heart, gave us a virtual playroom where we could share our passion for the fashion of this icon. So, thanks Mrs. T, and here's to four more years.
Love those pumps!
Is that Barbara Tthat Mrs. O is wearing for her speech?
MRSO looked phenomenal. She looked beautiful. Everything was on track. She knocked it out of the park with her speech and looks. Her pink dress is Tracey Resse.
Mrs. O is wearing Tracy Reese for her convention speech. Custom-made in pink and gray. Hemline has a beautiful flow and flounce to it.
Mrs. O knocked it out of the park tonight at the DNC. And Loved the Nails!!
I was never prouder of Mrs. O than I was tonight listening to her speech before the DNC. The speech was terrific! The Tracy Reese dress and pink pumps looked AMAZING! You go, Mrs. O!!
OpFan, I would "Like" your comments if I could. Well said, Lady!!!
I agree with Nyon, well said, OpFan. Dress and speech were great four years ago, again tonight, and Mrs. O is wonderful as always!
Aw, thanks ladies. We've been together a long time on this site and you know where my heart lies! MO was great tonight. Was that dress out of her closet? The Givhens article had a picture of her in it.
There was so much subtext in Mrs. O's look (that nail color! those higher heels! What a way to wear pink! That border fluted with the seaming!). And so much subtext to her speech (written herself; genius and out of the ballpark said Mark Shields immediately!). Not a word against Republicans, yet a devasting takedown of greed, in an ode to love, honor, and opportunity for all. Even her earnest presentation that tried to keep speaking during the responses made her, as always, the opposite of a politician smugly smiling after each planned evocation of chanting. The brainiac who brought home the bacon, for so many years, became the mom-in-chief who CARES. And for the eyes, the perfect visual expression of simply spoken, poetic lovliness. If the DNC presents economic plans for full employment, they will live up to the promise of Mrs. Obama's speech.
I'm loving this DVF dress with J Crew Everly cap toes! This DNC is proving to be a fashion feast for us Mrs. O fans.
Go FLOTUS!
My fellow posters such beautiful sentiments regarding the First Lady!
Four more years.....Please!
