White House Kids State Dinner

The First Lady hosted the first ever White House Kids State Dinner today, re-wearing a Barbara Tfank dress previously seen here. A lovely frock for a fun occasion! The luncheon honored 54 children who are winners of a national recipe competition sponsored by Epicurious.com and the departments of Agriculture and Education.

I love how open the Obamas have made the White House. They are constantly having military families over, underprivileged kids, school children from all over the country. They give ordinary Americans a very extraordinary experience and I applaud them for that. This luncheon is yet another example of that. They are so natural and genuine and fun. Mrs. O looks wonderful in this fun dress. I envy the way she wears color. She is inspiring!

I loved when the first lady wore this dress with lilac pumps and she was pictured walking hand in hand with the President. I love love love Tfank's style. If money were no object...............

Beautiful from a fashion perspective and as a wonderfully warm, sincere, human being.

I like the way that Michelle likes to include and make everyone she comes across feel special ...even children for a State Dinner. She is a lovely soul. God bless her and her family. Her lovely dress to me is just reflection of the person inside it.

Just goes to prove once again: Mrs. Obama is beautiful inside and out. I agree completely with Alisa's comment. We are truly blessed to have such a gracious, accomplished and caring FLOTUS. She brings to the People's House such an atmposphere of grace and beauty, all the while inviting to that House guests of all ages, socioeconomic strata, and especially children. I don't have the words to describe what a genuine treasure we all have in Mrs. Obama. We need to make sure that President Obama is re-elected. Tell your friends: donate to the campaign, and get out the vote.

Lovely dress for a lovely occasion. I realize, in looking back over the past few years, how much I've learned about style from Mrs. O, and how many designers she's introduced me to. I had never heard of Barbara Tfank, now she's one of my favorite designers. Ditto for Thakoon, Alaia and Sophie Thiellot. I love their clothes. Thank you Mrs. O , for broadening my knowledge of fashion.
