Our beautiful First Lady can just rock a dress...any dress! I am amazed and inspired by her. I haven't worn a dress in years and she really makes me want to!! That purple dress is gorgeous. Love the signature brooch. And the cream colored pants and scarf with the blue tweed coat for the Christmas Tree Lighting is so elegant, so pitch perfect....she makes me want to go walking in the snow. I love watching our First Family and am so thrilled we get to watch them for four more years!
What a beautiful pair!!! This nation has become the envy of the world because of these two. I suspect the next world leaders to make that happen will be King William and Queen Kate. On a fashion note, FLOTUS O never disappoints in her color selections or her attention to details of accessorizing. Her hair is flawless, with a fun bounce. And she has the most handsome man in Washington on her arm. I'd give it a 10!

@Nyon: I'm with you. To your "Ooooh" I'll add a "weeee!!!!" And, a "Purple Reigns!" ...I love seeing the First Lady dressed "this" way: classics with clean cuts, nice lines, and fine or extra detailing. And, of course, lush (and luscious!) color. She looks radiant here. And the President looks pretty dapper his d*mn self!

They look so confident, so at ease, so elegant. I wonder what they are chatting, smiling about? The dress...oh please wear it again soon First Lady so we can see the details! Aaaah...purple is her color!
Is it my monitor, my aging eyes (lol) or is this dress purple with royal blue sleeves & sash at the bodice? Either way, PURPLE REIGNS! We know how our Michelle loves clothes that have that extra little detail, it makes for an interesting wardrobe, that's for sure. This one is no exception, she looks like (as my grandmother would say) the cat that swallowed the canary! I likey! Also, are those olive green shoes? That's our FLOTUS! On another note, my whole family is beside ourselves. President Obama will be here tomorrow at a Chrysler diesel engine factory that's closed to the public and my cousin has an invite to attend! She's taking her grandson and we are thrilled and excited for her. She spent Friday getting her hair done and yesterday shopping for an outfit. I told her to tell our Boo hello! I'll report back with details afterwards.

I think Mrs. O makes an important statement when she "shops her closet". In these difficult economic times it's a gracious and smart thing to do.
Gorgeous, indeed.
I love the stitching and that it opens up on the bottom to create a swaying skirt.
They really are a beautiful, power-couple. I love the cut of the dress.
"I told her to tell our Boo hello!"
