Victory

It's victory for President Obama and four more years of first lady fashion! On election night, Mrs. O demonstrated a continued proclivity for "shopping her closet," wearing a magenta silk chine pintucked dress by Michael Kors, last seen in 2010, here. The first lady accessorized with a cropped black cardigan and pink House of Lavande Vintage 1950s Schreiner brooch at the neckline.
Many will remember the edgy red and black Narciso Rodriguez dress that Mrs. O wore in Grant Park in 2008, here. I think last night's choice was a clear departure. The message wasn't fashion with a capital F, but rather, a more subdued statement: classic style with an inherent ease. Knowing that Mrs. O chose the dress from her own closet only reinforced that mood. I think it's an indication of how the first lady's style has evolved over the first term, along with her role. Certainly, it will be exciting to follow where she takes us next!
On the girls: Sasha Obama borrowed from her sister, wearing a green Chris Benz skirt, previously worn by Malia, here, paired with J.Crew Mila cap toe leather flats. Malia Obama wore a full royal blue skirt, paired with a black top and pink belt at the waist. New York Times fashion critic Cathy Horyn was smitten, tweeting: "The Obama girls might be the fashion news tonight--full skirts, bright color, cute"

LOVED the girl's dresses, especially Sasha's!
Mrs. T, I told you that this blog would run for another four years. Another four years of wools, cottons, laces, leathers, Jason Wu, Michael Kors, Tracy Reese, kitten heels(which I hate), and so much more, all featured on our beautiful First Lady, Michelle Obama.
I think Mrs. Obama is lovely.
HURRAH!!
4 more years.... and 4 more years of Mrs. O. Politics, style, and so much more!
I miss you! I'm glad you are back!
Victory, indeed! It's sweeter the second time around!
This is the day that the people of the world have made. President Obama will be in charge of this country for four more years. I love the Obama's so much!!!! Mrs. Obama, I'm so proud of you.
I Love Mrs. O's choice of color - a nod to red and blue working together. And Jill Biden's dress rocks! Mrs. T, do we know who designed Jill's great dress?
I think it's time to report on the misses O as well. Malia and Sasha were so young at the start of the first term, and it seems they have inherited their mother's wonderful sense of style as they become young women.
Someone please get me some more oxygen....gasp! This family looked FANTASTIC! Sasha her outfit, I need a breakdown of it....would love to hunt that look down for my daughter. OBAMA 2012 and beyond!
Oh happy days! I thought Mrs. O chose wisely but look forward to funkier outfits.
Look at the way all those colors go together! Malia's dress matches Obama's tie! The green of Sasha's dress does not distract, but somehow completes everyone else's color. The black and grey also seem to tie everything together. It's like nature, nothing is out of place. I don't know who coordinates all these outfits, but they are an artist!
I am thrilled with the Obama win of a second term and extremely pleased that we can continue to watch Mrs. O. com! I love this website!! Keep up the great work!
Welcome back Mrs. T...and what an incredible few days it has been. I hope you and your family are all well. I could not be more grateful to have our First Family for the next four years....most of all to have our POTUS lead us, but also to watch Sasha and Malia grow up...Malia will graduate(!) and to continue to follow the fabulous fashion of our First Lady! Four more years!
I wanted President Obama to win, but secretly I really wanted four more years so we can see more fashions from Mrs. O! I LOVE IT!!
All Hail POTUS and FLOTUS! Thanks for all you've done to lead our country. You both represent the American people so well and so courageously. It's up to all of us to do everything we can in our own communities to help unite this country in solving our problems. ITA with Mrs. T that it is a wonderful bonus to have four more years of our First Lady of Fashion and Substance! As well, how great to have seen and to be able to continue seeing Sasha and Malia growing from cute young girls into beautiful, confident young ladies.
POTUS was right on when he said that Mrs. O helped him become the man he is, and how good it makes him feel to see the rest of the world "fall in love with her too!" I'm especially looking forward to seeing what Mrs. O will choose to wear for the second term Inauguration, and for the Inaugural Ball. Along with all the great work Mrs. O has done for military families (with the help of Jill Biden), for improving the health of young people and for healthy eating in general, she has been a gentle giant in the White House and a Lady of such style and grace. Mrs. O has influenced the world through the power of knowing who she is and being unafraid to be herself.
Mrs. T, thanks to you too for this cutting-edge, ahead-of-the-pack blog and for your visionary and exciting book, Mrs. O: The Face of Fashion Democracy. Ahead of us, there is much work to do in our country, and also much to be thankful for. We should wake up and smell the roses.
Four More Years!!!
Love them all!
Malia and Sasha's outfits are too cute!
Dr. Biden's dress is the "bomb"!
Mrs. T, it's time to take us F O R W A R D on your Mrs. O blog!
I hope all is going well as you and everyone on the East Coast continue recovering from the affects of Hurricane Sandy.
Hugs and kisses to you all!
A perfect end to a nail-biting few weeks. Perfect choice for both Mrs Obama and Dr. Biden. The girls have grown before our eyes. Lovely. Here is to 4 more years. Unlike others, I do not have fashion fatigue. It will be wonderful to continue to follow Mrs. O's style evolution as she tackels more controversial issues this term.
Four more years. Everyone looked beautiful.
This proves that the first time was no fluke. The first family is beautiful! FLOTUS is an amazing woman and we can tell her daughters are going to follow. We are praying for you.
I was up until 7am this morning. Yep, I stayed up all night to watch history repeat itself but more importantly to hear the President's speech and see what his girls were wearing. I wasn't disappointed. Mrs Obama looked beautiful as always but wow, haven't the girls grown so much. It was a great night. Congratulations to the first family and the Biden's. Looking forward to another four year's of blogging here, especially looking forward to Mrs Obama's inauguration outfit and evening gown. A side note to Marcus, enjoy yourself !!!! And another side note, I am one of few people who really loved flotus' red and black Narciso dress that she wore on election night. To each their own but I really loved that dress.
Happiness is 4 more years. Thank you Mrs. T! I refused to go to bed last night until I could see Mrs. O and Sasha and Malia and Mrs. Robinson!!! I am still swooning over the color of Malia's belt and how it was picked up in Sasha's necklace and the color of their cute flats! The first family was simply beautiful! I am praying for our President to continue to move our nation FORWARD!
@Nancy....I was thinking the same thing. Sasha always hits a high-note, but unfortunately the Misses O's are off-limits. So for now we will have to be satisfied with the occasional glimpse.
Oh what a beautiful morning, oh what a beautiful day...........again!!!!!!!!.........
The anesthetic of Hope, Beauty, and all dreams are possible hasnt worn off - still on cloud 9.
The President fought hard on the campaign trail - I was touched when they said "This will be our last campaign speech" (on Sunday) - to tear drops on his cheeks....we wait......then a moving re-assuring speech from a Man whose character inspires us to be our best selves.
Working together for a better tomorrow and most of all thanking everyone for their contribution to his re-election.
Thanks again Mr. President for reminding us that "Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate, but that we are powerful beyond measure" that we all have the potential to achieve our biggest dreams.
So good to have you back, Mrs. T!
I love looking at them all together - what a beautiful family. I especially love Sasha's skirt. It seems to pull the whole family ensemble together. Mrs. Obama's dress is lovely--it's not as flashy or controversial as the 2008 pick (which I happen to like a lot), but I love the metallic sheen and the understated glamour it brought to the occasion. Here's to four more years of great looks.
FOUR MORE YEARS!!!!!! YES WE DID!!!!!
The First Family looked FABULOUS and so did the Bidens!!!!! I'm still super excited!!
Hey bloggers, welcome to the first day of the next four years. What a great feeling, huh ?

Hey Mrs. T -
Any info on Mrs. Obama's dark mani color? Looks like it could be OPI's Lincoln Park After Dark. Also, could you find out more information in general about her hair and makeup? She always looks flawless, and I'd love to know which brands/colors she uses for her nude lips, blush, etc. in addition to products for her glossy and bouncy hair! Thanks!
Can anyone identify the brand and color on Michelle Obama's nails?
I must know!
I am just bursting with pride. My First Family is just awesome and inspiring. Looking forward to Mrs. O fashion blog for the next four years!
On to inauguration fashion people!!

Thank you Mrs. T for your unfailing efforts to bring the fashion and excitement of Mrs.O and her lovely family to us. You have fed our fashion appetites and allowed us to vicariously live our lives through this amazing woman, making the last four years quite engaging. I look forward to these next four years with a little anxiety but anticipation nonetheless.
Cheers!
Thanks so much, Mrs. T, for the follow-up information on Malia's and Sasha's outfits, and for the additional article link. It makes me smile re Malia passing the Chris Benz skirt down to Sasha ... While their outfits are not quite the same as mine and my sisters', the "passing down" is very familiar. ;)
I agree with those posters who never tire of following what Mrs. O does and what she wears. "Anticipation is making me wait ..." :)
I am just in awe of all the lessons this campaign and the fashion choices teach us. It is OK to recycle a great outfit. It will always look new. Also, you can wear your sisters hand-me-down and still express your own fashion sense. Here's to 4 more years. Looking forward to it.
I Love the Obama's and I'm grateful that President Obama have 4 more years to finish what he started!! Beautiful family!! The 1st Family looked so beautiful Tuesday night on stage! Love you guys!! Vice President Biden and Mrs. Biden looked fantastic as well!! Four More Years!!! Yes!!!
Congratulations for proving your worth and of course your style! More power!
