School Days

While I was expecting an appearance from Mrs O this evening I was not expecting to have photos pop up from a visit by the President, the First Lady and Malia Obama to Sidwell Friends School - a lovely bonus!

Here we see Mrs Obama in the pink leopard print skirt first seen departing Hawaii in the New Year (see here), this time teamed with what appears to be a purple scoop neck T-shirt and brilliant magenta cardigan.  Perfectly demonstrating Mrs O's genius for mixing bright colours and punchy patterns to great effect.

Update: The skirt is by Gregory Parkinson - thanks to Charlene-in-Detroit for reminding me.

I like the look of this skirt paired with this colored cardi and tank. These colors really picks up the different colors in the skirt. This is a nice family photo.
Is it just me, or does this photo seem a little like 'TMZ papparrazzi in the bushes' kind of picture? Hmmm, oh well. It is legit.

Posh, this skirt is by Gregory Parkinson. You are doing a FANTABULOUS job, my dear!

Agreed Charlene. (Not that I am doing a fabulous job, but that the colours really pick up on the colours in the skirt!!!) I noticed on photos released this morning by the photo agencies that the First Family are at the school for a function involving Sasha, which would explain her absence in the photo.

The girls are not going along on the state visit - and Mrs O is only going to London and Ireland. Or so internet reports say.

@Charlene in Detroit,
Funny you should mention the "TMZ-style photo" - I thought the same thing:)

Love it! She looks nice in the skinny belt! Wear those more often, Mrs. O! Loving her tote! Do tell? Great job, Posh Tater!

The cardigan looks like J. Crew, maybe in orchid. It is difficult to define colors in photos; but
the outfit looks very "school family" . Love the colors!

This colour combination is stunning - the deep purple shirt and fuschia cardigan add richness to the skirt that the white top she wore with it last time didn't. Gorgeous!

I think this is a better color combination nxt to the first time she wore the skirt.
(Those are actually some of my favorite colors xD)

Ditto to what Judy said. The colour combination here is fantastic. It just goes to show that you can mix and match and come up with completely different outfits just by playing around with colours. This is so lovely and fresh. I think I love the skirt even more with that magenta cardigan. The whole family look divine. Picture of love and happiness.

I hear that Mrs Obama will be taking some students from a London school to Oxford University sometime this week. With that in mind, I have just rearranged my work schedule and will be working from my company's office in Oxford. I was just talking to my manager about Mrs Obama, he's a 50 plus Irish guy and a happily married father of six. He just said that she is educated, beautiful, classy and intelligent and an absolute winner. INDEED !!!!

I REALLY hope I get to see the first lady and will share pictures if I do.
