Thursday, May 19, 2011 at 9:57 AM The Congressional Club hosted their annual First Lady’s Luncheon on Wednesday. Gloria Estefan was the entertainment for the event and by all accounts had everyone up on their feet and dancing in the aisles – especially the First Lady!
Last year’s luncheon was a closed press event therefore no press photos have yet emerged. However, The Georgetown Dish has an article here.
Mrs Obama wore the beautiful grey silk, one-shouldered, Rachel Roy dress we first saw in Brazil on 19th March 2011, seen here. (Pictures 5 and 6 as you scroll down.)

I really like this dress, I wonder if she sported the jacket as well, while on her way to the ladies luncheon luncheon. I believe Mrs O is pleasantly expanding our ideals of politically correct attire! This one shouldered look while very feminine has a professional flair!

Has anyone noticed that in Brazil the right shoulder was bare and this time around it's the laft shoulder? She is such a fantastic fashion icon. Truly inspirational. I love how she dresses to suit herself and of course the occasion.
trinisamba my lovely, I think it is the same shoulder.... sleeve on the left and bare shoulder on the right.

This is one of my favorite outfits, not just on Mrs. O, but in general. I would LOVE to find something like this. Not sure where I would wear it, but I would love to own it.
The shoulders look reversed to me, too, trinisamba. First thing I noticed. Perhaps it's a Rachel Roy blouse and not the dress from the other trip??
In both of the photos from Brazil and both the photos from the Georgetown Dish the sleeve is on the left shoulder.
Hi Posh, the screens on theobamadiary seem to be reversed for some reason. I looked at them frame by frame and I realise that her wedding ring seems to be on her right hand. I can't understand though why all their images are reversed. BUT...who cares? She still looks G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S.....even in reverse....;-))
Mwahahaha! Good sleuthing there trinisamba..... In my photos (obviously) the sleeves are consistently on the left. How weirdy woo is that?!!
Thank you for saying that thing about the wedding ring; I was beginning to wonder if I was going mad. But it would appear that the photos have been flipped for some reason.
Now I will go and have a lie down in a darkened room..... :-)
