Ooh, how did I let this slip through the cracks? Also yesterday, Mrs. O commemorated the 100th anniversary of International Women's Day and celebrated Women's History Month with a White House reception. Pictured with Mrs. O above is Aissatou Hamidou Diallo of Burkina Faso, who was given an opportunity to go to school by the Millennium Challenge Corporation. The event highlighted the importance of investing in young women and girls in the U.S. and around the world.

On the fashion front, Mrs. O turned to a gold lurex jacket and pencil skirt by Michael Kors. We last saw Mrs. O wear the suit in late 2009, here.

I just read the comments from the 2009 photo when Mrs. O wore this same suit. It's so interesting how peoples' responses change! The ones posted here are so much more positive, as I believe they should be.

Mrs. O looks fab, as always. Oh, to wear something like that and not worry about sucking in my tummy! Not to mention having my arms show...heavy sigh...

This suit reminds me of that gorgeous yellow one that she wore round about the same time. I love this suit. It seems appropriate to wear gold when championing the causes of women around the world and the bracelets set off the look nicely.

Do not like. There is something about the cut of the jacket that just looks dowdy. Couple that with the shiny, metallic fabric, and the suit is, to steal an epithet from Mr. Kors himself, "very MOB".

Very nice suit for an evening event. Would like to see more color somehow... earrings with green stones? Also seems a bit tight across the thigh/hip area? Could just be the photo. She seems very engaged with the young lady! She must be thrilled beyond belief! So precious!
