Active O

Photos by Evan Vucci / AP Images

The First Lady hosted the U.S. women's national soccer team along with 50 local students for a Let's Move soccer clinic on the South Lawn on the White House this afternoon. Cutie-pie Bo Obama even made an appearance!

Update: Mrs. O wears a Southwest V tee by Monrow.

Great photos. I really like the second one - I think it shows a natural steeliness reminiscent of her earlier campaign appearances in 2007-8. A force to be reckoned with, hooray. But come on, people, she's only in her mid 40s - that's not old!

As much as I love seeing Mrs. O in all her glamorous gowns and great dresses and outfits, nothing makes me happier than to see her running and playing with the kids, sitting in the grass or digging in the garden. This is "real people" and she's one of the best!

There are some new shots of Mrs O on the White House Flickr page. Bo makes several appearances also. He is getting so big. Take a look. Loving casual Mrs O.

I really love these action images.

She really is an everyday woman.

I can't imagine any other First Lady involving herself in soccer with the kids.

@ English Observer, definitely not calling her old, but she's older than me and makes me shame. That's all, LOL!

Mrs Obama seems to ENJOY physical activities -- a great model for her "Let's Move" campaign!

@ Nyon: it's OK, I know where you're coming from! I was reminded of a comment of Mrs. O herself (was it in the issue of Time that she covered, back in early 2009?) when she said she'd probably be working until she was about 90...being FLOTUS was just one stage in a journey of public service.

This woman is such an inspiration to women of all ages! The benefits of healthy living have never been more apparent to me than since she came onto the scene. She's not stick thin, there's no shadow in her smile from rotting teeth due to bulimia, she's shapely and her skin and hair glows. It's that balance that I strive for. And as a bonus......our Michelle looks happy!
I enjoy seeing Bo as well. He's really grown!

Love her hair longer. She looks more youthful. Wow a vibrant First Lady, vivacious and versatile.

Too fine for words! An "onion" as my father likes to say. "Woman that fine make a grown man cry!"

HA HA, Marcus Perry, that's genius!

Love these photos showing Mrs O at her sporty best. She even inspired me to take care of myself and get sporty, so she's obviously a miracle worker...
