A Fall Floral

Photo by Chris O'Meara / AP Images

The First Lady was in Tampa, Florida today to attend a DNC fundraiser at the home of Joel Cantor, a developer and top campaign fundraiser. When Mrs. O landed in Tampa, she was greeted by students from John Sexton Elementary School, which received an award from the Alliance for a Healthier Generation this year.

On the style front, Mrs. O revisited a floral Thakoon dress, first seen during the presidential debates during the fall of 2008.

is the FLOTUS wearing pantyhose with this look? If so, I will need to get up to speed on fashion. I havent owned a pair in a minute.

I'm glad to see this dress again. It looks great and fits well. BIN, I thought the same thing at first--that FLOTUS was wearing pantyhose, but her arms have that same coated look, so I'm thinking it's just the camera angle. Since Mrs O despises pantyhose, she said so on The View, I doubt she would do that.

Hah! I thought it might be pantyhose as well. If not she probably just needs some lotion. Love the dress.

The First Family goes to Australia next month, the fashion should be interesting.

Nope, I don't think it's pantyhose because I saw more pics at theobamadiary.com and it didn't look like she had on any. Y'all go check those pics out. There is a pic of Mrs. O with all the kids and I LMAO so much at the ties they put on those cute little boys. One little guy's tie reached his knees. It was hilarious and super cute all at the same time.

BTW, I love this dress on Mrs. O!!

This dress reminds me of the campaigning days. I love it, it conjures up some really special memories for me and for history. As for the pantyhose debate - I haven't worn tights in years (we call them tights in the UK). I agree that they can be uncomfortable. However I swear by my lace top hold up's. I personally do not feel that a lady is dressed unless she has some covering on her legs. Call me old fashiooned but unless it is heatwave outside I always wear my hold up's. To each their own.

Hmmmm . . . . I thought I saw pantyhose as well. For sure Mrs. O will wear what she is comfortable in for the event/day. Could be? Could be the picture angle. Those neckties are darling!

It's lovely to see this dress again, and with Mrs. O's hair down as well. Super look!

The hair, the hair....shiny, healthy and gorgeous....good to see that dress again and the memories that go with it. Shine on First Lady!

Jestina: I am with you. I am old fashioned also and still thinks that a lady is not dressed unless she has on pantyhose. This is one of my favorite dresses on Mrs. Obama. She looks fantastic. People must still wear pantyhose. As I have commented in the past, when I go to buy pantyhose, my favorite shade is always sold out! Also Jestina, what are lace top hold ups?

Hey little sis Nyon!

I have a confession to make, and i think it is appropriate to make this comment. I have been secretly following this blog since September 2008, my sophomore year in high school, and as a freshman in college, i am still following the blog. This blog is amazing. The blog effectively presents news from a style and fashion view point, which i endorse. Thank you Mrs. T for all your wonderful news piece on this blog. Michelle Obama is someone i look up too; she is someone that inspired me to pursue my current major in college. As a "new" follower, i cannot wait to experience more inspiring fashion of MICHELLE OBAMA. VIVA Mrs.O and Mrs.T.!!

Love this dress. She does florals so well! I thought I saw pantyhose at first too; it was my first thought. On consideration, I think the camera had a hard time deciding what to register on and ended up going with a middle tone that reflects both the olive green in the dress and the gray of the asphalt (tarmac?), which threw off most of the flesh tones. The First Lady's right leg, which is in shadow, looks more natural.

I will wear pantyhose depending on the occasion. I've started wearing nude fishnet hose which help hide the little skin imperfections I've gotten in the last decade.

Now that Princess Katherine has been photographed wearing pantyhose, I expect to see a comeback.

I think it is pantyhose. The fir of the dress looks smother in some of the pictures. They may be light support. I must admit I wear panyhose all the time. I love the support of the tummy and thigh control and like Oprah, i love my Spanx. They combination just makes a shift dress fit better even if you are toned. This dress is amazing. i love it. Great repeat for Florida.

Hey jerseygirl. nice to see there is another person of the same opinion as me. I don't wear tights (panythose) as I am tall and find that they can be uncomfortable. Hold ups are like wearing stockings but instead of a suspender belt, the top of them tend to have a sort of silicone that automatically sticks to your legs all day. They can be plain or lace top, personally I like the lace top as they look really nice and they are often of better quality and will last through numerous washes.

HI BIG SIS JERSEYGIRL!!!!

LOL, I should have known the pantyhose discussion would bring you out, but whatever it is that gets you to post, I'm happy! It's always a pleasure hearing from you. I hope all is well.

Dear Fellow Mrs-O Watchers:
This particular picture is purely a product of lighting and shadows. She is wearing the appropriate amount of lotion. The First Lady's legs look much better in the following pictures:

Just want to respond to Mrs. G's post about wearing nude fishnets: Mrs. G, GREAT TIP! I too have "imperfections" on my legs and don't feel comfortable w/ bare legs in warmer weather, but your idea is the perfect solution for me. Thanx!
