A Vision in White

The president and first lady are in Toronto for the G20 Summit this weekend. For the first official state dinner, Mrs. O dazzled in white Alaia. Gorgeous!
Update: Per the Huffington Post, via the Pool Report, Mrs. O is also wearing 'vintage costume jewelry from a company in Toronto called n&n vintage.'

I can't believe you blog a day after your wedding. maybe as a friend of mine once told me.blogging is addictive. Will we get a picture of your wedding dress?
Congratulations to the new couple and i wish you happiness.
Mrs.O looks exquisite. what a flawless skin she has! and Mrs.O studded pumps are to die for.
If you have any plan to blog again, can you include the pic where she is posing with Mrs.Harper.her shoes are very un-first lady like and i love it.and she is wearing a floral dress.i remember when Mrs.O wore Thakoon during her turn, people were talking about the inappropriateness of the dress.
Simply fabulous.
From head to toe, our First Lady is looking great!
Also Lauren harper was the hostess.i think she deserves a little love-blogging on your lovely site Mrs.T
still, i can't believe that you post a day after your wedding. aren't you exhausted?
On display her most dazzling fashion accessory - her skin. It is just amazing. Love the dress to.
Congratulation Mrs. T and happy honeymoon, Mrs O looks devine as usual a wonderful white dress on her and her hubby Mr President looks good too, I also liked the Canadian host dress it was cheerful.
LMBO! Look at my Presidents face. He is proud of his lady love. I just loooooooove these two.
Hot stuff period and someone has been working overtime in the gym. Get it Mrs.O. I love this dress and those shoes lovely.
Tight arms!
Any information about her jewelry?
LOVE FLOTUS, but hate this dress. I don't think it is flattering to our very stunning FLOTUS. I don't like the bottom and I think the top is 'too revealing' for her. BUT, always remember that I do love FLOTUS...she's wonderful.
Smashing!!!
If you want more info about the jewelry please visit the Huffington Post.com and click on the style tab. As always Mrs. O looks devine.
@ Georgia - Yes, huffington post had a link to the designer of her jewelry. Here it is: http://www.trifari.com/
Also, here is the huffington post link: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/06/27/michelle-obama-g-20s-othe_n_627028.html
Regarding the jewellery, all the ladies were given a gift of costume jewellery by Laureen Harper, the wife of the Prime Minister of Canada.
This dress has the dropped waist that lies exactly at the widest part of her body, her hips. It
is a short version of the dress she wore at Nobel dinner. Not a good look for her. You have to be younger & more willowy to pull off the ruffles. Love the shoes!!
Do we call you Mrs B now? Congratulations! Lovely gown!!
Mrs. O looks absolutely stunning!!! For the folks who say her dress is too young or the cut does not fit her body "de-emphasizing her backside" I say fall back. She has a modern look for someone her age. Although she may be 48 (I think) she doesn't have to look like she's 60.
Well....I think she looks fantastic in this dress! Glowing, stunning.
I can only imagine how hectic and demanding her schedule is.....but, she just looks like she is having the time of her life.
I agree 100% Mia Monte. One time before Mrs. O said you can't please everyone. So I am sure she does not try too. I love the dress and Mrs. O is 46 yrs. old, there is nothing wrong with having hips or behind, the good Lord gave it to her, why should she try to hide it if she choose not too. Mrs. O looks great in that dress . She wears it well, and Mr. O ought to have a wide grin on his face, because he knows he has some special lady in Michelle Obama. What a First Lady?
@briana......Thank you. I agree with every word you said. I forgot to congratulate the bride. May you and your husband have a wonderful life.
Beautiful!! I'm officially in love with Michelle Obama!! There, I said it! Can't deny it any longer. She's so amazing!
Congrats on the nuptials. Thank you for your commitment to this blog and continuously keeping it going...even in the midst of such a significant time in your life. We truly appreciate you as well!
I LOVE Canada and I LOVE the O's!! They are simply smashing and I'm always so proud of them when they step out on the world stage. WOW!
Mrs O showed up and showed out! She always makes me so proud. I especially love when she wears things that accentuate her curves. She has the body that many, including myself, work hard at trying to achieve. She embraces the body that they tried to make our ancestors feel ashamed about... and now so many women are paying for the butt implants or pads. Anyway, she wore this dress so well! Bea-U-ti-ful!
another pic of Mrs.O where you can see the details on her jewelries

OH MY GOSH! (in my Usher voice)
Simply Beautiful!
This dress has a fuller skirt and smaller ruffles, but isn't it very like the black one she wore for their date night in NYC last summer?
I love the jewlery, and the fact that it's costume. Trifari has been around for decades - I remember it well when I was in high school, and even before. I knew I should have held on to all those pieces!
Snap! Oh so fine x2!!! Congrats on Wedding MrsT from a fan in SWITZERLAND. (male)
Mrs. O is so radiant. The jewelry!!! I want the earrings!!!
I need to get down the gym !
Mrs. O looks great in this white dress. I really enjoy the youthfulness of the design.
However, I find it offensive that she represents our country with her cleavage showing! It reminds me of a rebellious teenager or thoughtless person.
Oh my. A detail caught my irreverent attention. I will second operafanatic's motion that Trifari has been around for decades. Perhaps for beyond decades! (as I have). I remember Trifari in that same recollected glimpse that I remember the small cedar jewelry boxes presented to the graduating high school girls by the Lane Co. These, as I think back, with both hilarity and cynicism, and perhaps even some wistfulness, were the "trainer" boxes for the "real" cedar chests--the "hope" chests--that would come our way (or so Lane seriously hoped), when we married. Trifari and Lane. Quite a memory trip this was.
It is most similar to the black Alaia she wore in Baden Baden last year. Different neckline, smaller ruffles, but very close.
She is 'Magnificently' beautiful in this cocktail dress! I'm utterly teary-eyed with admiration!
Congratulations Mrs. T(B)! Your wedding gown is simply beautiful!
Mrs. T have the folks at Huffington Post/ Vogue/ Mrs. O's camp / Peter Soronen congratulated you on your wedding? we'd love to know! Best Wishes!!
Just the sheer fact that this women wears Alaia is enough for me! Simply Gorgeous....
@BeeGee - you're right. I had that black Alaia confused with the NYC Date Nite dress, which also had a ruffled skirt. But I now remember I didn't really love that dress - the skirt was much more close fitting and I didn't think it was as flattering. Though I think she carried an electric blue clutch that night, and I loved that . . .
It definitely was the Baden Baden dress that I was referencing when I saw this white one. That dress remains one of my favorite looks on Mrs. O. Thanks for clarifying!
LOVELY!!! TRES JOLIE!!!
Lady O's skin that white dress is a magnifique!
Wow! What a First Lady! She looks stunning in this dress. Azzedine's designs really looks marvelous on her. Our President looks like he knows that he's the luckiest guy in the room. I am so proud of the work that both of them does for our country. That our Michelle looks classy while doing said work....well that's just a bonus! Both of them have that "whip appeal" in this picture.
HA HAA! Nyon I can hear it!!!!
I love it. Love the snowy white in summer, what a great look. Not a fan of the apparent width of the skirt but I'll wait till I see more pics - this could be an unfortunate angle.
What a sweet and wonderfu idea of the Toronto first lady to give costume jewellery. How much fun could you have choosing all THAT?! I know I would have a ball, anyway. Thoughtful and sweet.
Come è bella!

Observing this picture of our gorgeous first lady and handsome President leaves me speechless, all I can say is "WOW' they can represent me/our country anywhere in the world with pride and dignity. Congratulations on your marriage and may you both have what you want as long as you live and live as long as you want.
This a Beautiful First Family and dressed to match! She is just stunning.
