Garden Chic

Image by Evan Vucci / AP Photo

The first lady was back in the White House garden today for a spring planting, joined by students from Bancroft Elementary in Washington, DC and Hollin Meadows Elementary in Alexandria, VA, as well as Kathleen Sebelius, the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services.

Mrs. O dressed in a loose black top and sheer cardigan, paired with grey pants and Converse sneakers for her garden outing. Fun!

Update: Per WWD, "At first glance, some observers thought [Mrs. O] had a pair of bright pink gardening gloves tucked into her back waistband. In fact, her Clu-designed sweater featured a four-tiered Schiaparelli pink back ruffle inset." Thanks chrystelle!

We seek an energetic gardener, preferably with some experience. Must be able to help with the garden’ s small poultry flock. A keen interest in organic principles would be an advantage. A one- bedroom flat is provided at a low rent.

Very relaxed a chic she looks comfortable too...I wish I knew how to do that because when I dress down I dress DOWN sweats, hoodie, and sneakers.

She looks great. Didn't Malia have the same runners. Wonder if they share shoes like the way me and my mom used to.

HERE WE GROW AGAIN.....MRS.O BACK TO PLANTING HER VEGETABLE GARDEN.

SHE KNOWS HOW TO DRESS DOWN AN STILL BE GLAMOROUS.

I have to say if the grass wasn't wet, a nice pair of black gladiator sandals or flats would have been even more "chic". I'm sure I'll get crucified for saying that but it's true.

I am DYING to know what the FLOTUS and Carla Bruni Sarkozy wore last night..........no pictures anywhere!!! The media has raked poor Mrs. Sarkozy over the coals for her alleged multiple plastic surgeries. I felt sorry for her.

This woman is unstoppable - entertaining the Sarkozy's one door, mentoring girls the next day, planting herbs and vegetables the following day. I have run out of adjectives to describe my love and admiration for her. The President must be so incredibly proud of his wife.

The White House garden and teaching children how to grow their own healthy food are both fabulous ideas that tie in perfectly with Mrs. O.'s "Get Moving" program. Children really respond to color, and I wish Mrs. O. could have worn something a little more spring-like instead of an all-black outfit.

Who knew that one could actually look stylish while gardening? Of course, our Michelle did and now, so do we! Cute enough!

Here's the White House video of the speaking part with HHS Sec Sebelius and Agriculture Sec Vilsack. There must be a hot pink panel in the back of her outfit. There is a glimpse of it when she turns and in some of the still pictures.

I was desesparatly seeking for some photos of Mrs O and Mrs Sarkozy together , curious to see who was the best dressed and how they handle themselves. But I see nowhere !
In one hand, i am happy because Mrs O knows to handle the situation, she doesnt want to be a fashion icon though the media calls so. She is in control of her image and do not want to enter into the media games of fashion war.In another hand, she is trying to send a message that all of this is a bit heavy for her. She is just willing to do the right job but there are a lot of fuss annd talk around her.
Anyway, I am involved , and watching Mrs O is one of my favorite click on the net. I cannot help but I just love seeing her and what she wears . I Missed her when she is not around, and i i hate those who critised her for everything she does.
Now , she is back in the garden, looking radiant! but i hope next time, she will wear gloves to protect her soft hand.
Mrs O, I love you

Georgia, you can see a peek of the ruffle in the bottom photo. I had to look twice, but there is a definite flash of pink on the back of Mrs. O's cardigan!

This is what I love about FLOTUS she doesn't waste time. As soon as the weather starts to change, she's back in the garden reminding us about the importance of healthy eating and how economical it is to grow our own vegetables. Mrs. O teaches us discipline and poise. Her charitable personality, understanding nature, and her interaction with young people are just some of her great ACCESSORIES.

Here's a new pic of Mrs. O today and I must say she is looking sexy, but she can't help that. And why should she!!!
