Naeem Khan Fall 2010

Naeem Khan's Fall 2010 collection of beyond gorgeous gowns was presented last evening at Bryant Park. Check out a great overview of the collection from Rachel Dodes of the Wall Street Journal, here. In the story, Mr. Khan says of the first lady's choice to wear his gown for the state dinner last year:

“It’s the gift that doesn’t stop giving. My stuff is flying out of stores,” said Mr. Khan, clad in a black blazer and jeans, backstage. “I love it. My business is taking a big turn for the better. Even in an economy like this, glamorous things like these are selling in the stores. And for that I say, ‘Thank you Michelle Obama.’”

Interesting to note that a designer at the luxury end of the fashion spectrum is attributing a boost in sales to Mrs. O's patronage.

His stuff is flying off the shelves because it is SPECTACULAR!! Honestly, there is not one thing I do not LOVE!!!!! Question, Mrs. T: is the jewelry his as well? I am speechless.....the collection is METEORIC!!! And a word of note, my 18 year old just saw the video and she, too, loved the entire collection! That says a lot when both generations love something like this. Rock on, Mr. Khan!

At least Naeem gives Mrs Obama credit for some of the renewed interest/spotlight that has his clothing sales soaring. The J. Crew folks were not as gracious.

It seems like he received The stand Ovation. Et c'est largement mérité ! Bravo !!!

Who can forget Naeem Khan's evening gown Mrs. O wore to the State Dinner last year.
Good to hear his stuff is flying out of stores. Mrs. O's intention to put designers on the
fashion map, giving them great exposure, while helping the economy, is working.

Question, are these dresses hand made as well? Great regal, goddess apparels.
Upsweep hairstyles classy and unique. Great fashion for Oscar night as well.

Unbelievably beautiful line. There is absolutely nothing I would not love to own and wear to shreds. Beautiful, classic evening wear. I do hope Mrs. O wears another one (or more) in the years to come.

Thanks for posting this Mrs. T. I am absolutely in LOVE with this collection!

A couple of quick points:

(1) We are not the only ones in love with this collection. According to an article on the Huffington Post, Naeem Khan, "won the only standing ovation at Fashion Week." http://www.huffingtonpost.com/alex-geana/the-trend-report-fall-fas_b_469844.html

(2) @canyongal (2/19/10 @3:52 pm)
It appears that Mr. Kahn's wife, Ranjana Kahn, designed the jewelry accompanying the collection. ("Khan Goes for High Shine On The Runway" http://www.cnbc.com/id/35470508".)

Well that was a STUNNING show! Beautiful, beautiful cutting and embellishment. I was a little concerned to see fur here and there, so I'm hoping it was all fabulous fake. Well deserved praise for the designer - and his wife, the jewellery was gorgeous too.

Mrs T, you attended this one did you not? Was it breathtaking in person?
