Mrs. O in Harper's Bazaar

The November issue of Harper's Bazaar includes a feature story on the first lady, "Michelle Obama: America's Got Talent". While Mrs. O has been most vocal about her "Let's Move" campaign in recent media interviews, this story delves into the first lady's ambition to celebrate American art and culture at the White House, including, most recently, the White House Dance Series. While the interview does not focus on fashion, Mrs. O does reveal one style secret, referencing her bright blue heels paired with a raspberry L'Wren Scott sheath dress: "Well, you've got to get a color pop."

Color Extraordinaire! She curates color into her wardrobe that works, classically.
She looks gorgeous!!! I must confess that I do love her in L'Wren Scott.
This Lady and her shoes, spectacular!!!
Powerful Woman Swag!!!!!!!!
she is a fashion icon! that's it!
realy nice, I loved the blue shoes with the pik dress
What a joyful picture! I wonder if there's a similar photo of any previous First Lady...in a formal setting yet so happy and casual?
Love the shoes!
I wouldn't even think that blue shoes would go with the dress but it works, really really works. I love the whole look and the picture is a celebration of this powerful woman.
Dress: superb! Shoes do not go with it AT ALL. Not so much the "color pop" for me...
How annoying of Harper's Bazaar not to identify the musicians!
Vavavoom!
Loving this look on Mrs. O!
ROCK IT...First Lady!
Loving the raspberry L'Wren Scott dress complemented with the blue shoes. Simply Fabulous.
It would have been fun to see the blue color a second time. How about one of the First Lady's famous pins or stack of bracelets that reintroduces the blue color?

Add "Most Photogenic Woman in the World" to her list of achievments. Her photos in Harper's Bazaar are simply gorgeous and filled with life and motion. Of course her choice of sartorial confection helps!
Hyde Parker, if you click on the link of the photo shoot, they do list everyone that is in each pic on the right handside.
What a great article. I love the passion for the arts that the First Lady displays and the pics are great.

Great photo and fabulous dress
Love her !
Beautiful dress.Looks great on her. I am not fond of the shoes without any other "blue" connection to tie it together.
Words fail me. All I can say is WOW.
This dress indeed has that WOW factor to it. FLOTUS rocks a sheath dress like no one else. She looks stunning in this dress and don't get me started with those blue pumps. Have mercy! I love that she's using that unexpected color on a plain pump to punch up an outfit. It works just as good as any piece of jewlry or scarf. It's the piece de resistace, that touch that finishes this outfit and makes it her own and so very polished. I noticed that Peter Som used blue pumps on all the models that he sent down the runway in his Fall 2010 collection, whether there was any blue in the outfit or not. Well, it goes to show you that it works in real life also. Splendid!
Oops, correction. Peter Som used blue patent pumps on his models for his Spring 2010 ready to wear collection. He also used silver as well as white patent leather pumps.
J'adore J'adore J'adore......I cant get over how splendid she looks is this picture. I'm using it as my screensaver...Simply awesome.
I already have exact same color pumps...I need the mall version of L'Wren ..LOL
I love this photo, the colors are Amazing!
When Michelle leaves the WH we will likely return to an Oscar de la renta dressed FLOTUS who wears conservative pencil skirts and jackets like a uniform, not too colorful, mostly solid colors, no bright shoes, and certainly I will not check on line daily to see what new and exciting look she wore. I am already dreading missing Michelle and I am glad she is here now. I hope she never lets herself be boxed into any image, but remains - a real woman, wife, mother - herself.
What can you say about this woman that does her justice? She is beyond FABULOUS! Her sense of style, her utter devotion to making the role of First Lady one that makes her a woman of caring, conviction, casual and classy, all at the same time. There will never be another First Lady like her!!
