Mrs. O Out On The Town

mrso_goodstuffImage via DC365

Mrs. O had a lunch date at Good Stuff Eatery on Capitol Hill yesterday. According to the New York Post, Mrs. O ordered the President Obama burger topped with bacon, blue cheese, homemade onion marmalade and a horseradish mayo.

Mrs. O was joined by her staff, including press secretary Katie McCormick Lelyveld. "Sometimes you just need a burger," said McCormick Lelyveld to the Washington Post.  "It was her idea."

We are loving Mrs. O's tote! Thank you for everyone who contributed links.

Nice dress -- great color! And the necklace is outstanding. I'm going to guess Maria Pinto because that'll make Mara happy...(grin)

Michelle will be speaking soon, in just a few minutes, according to MSNBC.

Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 9:47 PM | Unregistered CommenterJenna

Michelle is up now. This has to be the BEST she ever looked.

Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 9:48 PM | Unregistered CommenterJenna

What is the point of having Mrs. O stand behind this CSPAN guy hugging these recipients?

Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 9:50 PM | Unregistered CommenterIVA

I think the dress is long

Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 9:55 PM | Unregistered CommenterMimi

lol...president is funny...love how he laughs at his own jokes....lol, that michael steele joke made me laugh out loud.

Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 10:02 PM | Unregistered Commenterasd

That Steele joke was really funny!

Yes, Mimi - her dress is long. She was pulling it at the floor.

Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 10:08 PM | Unregistered CommenterIVA

OOOO my GOD the president is so funny. I laughed my heart out. The Joe Biden on a leash was funny as well. I thought he was talking about BO....And that Joe Biden ought to get a prompter hahahhhahahaha

Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 10:11 PM | Unregistered CommenterMimi

Oh I missed the Michael Steele joke. any Michael Steele joke is funny

Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 10:17 PM | Unregistered CommenterNicole

GREAT JOKE ABOUT PALIN!

Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 10:20 PM | Unregistered CommenterNicole

The POTUS had a very funny speech. I laughed at the Joe Biden jokes although I do looove him.

Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 10:23 PM | Unregistered CommenterJenna

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOO my GOOOOOOOODDDDD, I can'tlaugh anymore, Wanda is killing me

Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 10:24 PM | Unregistered CommenterMimi

Wanda Sykes has been kind of hit or miss. But then I think nothing is harder than stand-up and this has been a tough crowd.

Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 10:29 PM | Unregistered CommenterJenna

lol...sleeves cost money!

Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 10:29 PM | Unregistered Commenterasd

I completely agree. This must be a hard room to prepare jokes for.

Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 10:29 PM | Unregistered CommenterIVA

OMG
The speeched of the POTUS and wanda were both absolutely hilarious!!! I was dying of laughter all the way through them. I just hope the members of the right wing press don't attack Wanda for her jokes. She was very brave to say a lot of the things she did, and I hope she doesn't take any heat for it.

Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 10:34 PM | Unregistered CommenterDerek

Hahahaha SArah Palin pulled out, thats not a good way to practice abstinence!!!hahahahhaha Priceless!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 10:36 PM | Unregistered CommenterMimi

The analysts on msnbc are already giving her a thumbs down for being "too partisan." She was funny, but some jokes were flat. I loved POTUS's jokes about Rahm and mother's day, as well as Steele and Boehner jokes.

Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 10:38 PM | Unregistered CommenterIVA

President Obama and Wanda were BOTH great, in my opinion.
I haven't laughed out loud so many times in a very long time!
Everyone is gonna be talkin' about tonight all day tomorrow!
The republican's heads are going to be exploding on talk radio tomorrow.

Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 10:38 PM | Unregistered CommenterLeah D

Wanda killed and the President was hilarious. Pat Buchanan of MSNBC is the partisan (hello, pot to kettle)

Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 10:41 PM | Unregistered Commenteredwina

I thought Wanda was a HOOT!! She was so funny and the President was just hilarious.

Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 10:43 PM | Unregistered CommenterDonna No Shock

Keith Olbermann was at the dinner event .. otherwise he would probably be on MSNBC right now talking about how great the jokes were!

Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 10:44 PM | Unregistered CommenterLeah D

I saw Kathleen Sebelius very briefly in what looked like an ice blue gown -- very flattering. She has a good color sense.

Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 10:49 PM | Unregistered CommenterChristina

But getting back to Michelle's dress, I am looking in some of the pictures at the very distinctive piping detailing lining the dress. Did anyone else notice? It's very similar to the black Michael Kors dress she wore for her official portrait that had that assymetrical piping. Also, I was browsing though the Michael Kors spring collection at Bergdorf Goodman and there actually is a VERY similar sleeveless sheath in almost exactly this fuschia color, with a slightly different neckline-- v-neck, instead of rounded. It's one of his "sheath and cashmere shrug" sets. I won't link to it to avoid moderation but if you go to bergdorf goodman dot com, click on designer collections, and scroll down to Michael Kors. It's in his spring collection.

Mrs. T,

Any word yet on the designer of Michelle's dress tonight? Inquiring minds have to know!

Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 10:53 PM | Unregistered CommenterJanelle

I think her dress is a Michael Kors. I'm 90% sure.

Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 10:55 PM | Unregistered CommenterMrs. A

Ed Henry from CNN, I seriously hate that guy! He just so against the president. He said That when Wanda Sykes made fun of Rush limbaugh (His kydneys Failing) and asked the president if that was too much? The first lady nodded no.

I want to see that video otherwise I would say that ED HEnry is lying.. It's comedy ofr Godsake

Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 10:58 PM | Unregistered CommenterMimi

I think it is too, and it would make sense since they messed up with naming her dress from the Time event.

Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 10:59 PM | Unregistered CommenterIVA

Jenna, may be MRS O wanted to make itup to Michael Kors for the other day designer mixed up. If thatt's the case it's very generous of her. KUDOS to Michael Kors being extremely professional about it

Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 11:01 PM | Unregistered CommenterMimi

Mrs. A, I totally agree. I am looking at this lookalike dress in his collection (at Bergdorf Goodman) and I think I can even make out the same piping. It's definitely almost the same color. Mrs. O must have ordered a modified neckline.

Interestingly, this is the SAME dress Jill Biden wore to the White House Easter event! She wore it with the matching shrug, in the blue-green color. Both colors are great and this dress looked amazing on both of them. The fushchia and the green are both available at Bergdorf's. If only I had $1795 to spend on it! And the matching shrug is $750. Le sigh...

Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 11:03 PM | Unregistered CommenterJenna

That was funny, I loved the joke about Library for the 1st 100 days. And asking Oprah to get to give the Gov's the Stim money.......LOL

Love the dress Mrs O looked radiant!

Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 11:03 PM | Unregistered CommenterStylishgurl

Someone had mentioned Andrea Mitchell's dress earlier. I just caught a look at it dress at the Huffpost slideshow and totally love it. It's floral and very romantic, though maybe some skinny straps would make it more proportional. And she has great toned arms!

Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 11:08 PM | Unregistered CommenterJenna

@ Mimi,

Aside from watching internet events online, I don't watch CNN anymore. I watch C-Span and PBS. The media is crazy to me and I haven't liked Ed Henry for awhile and I really dislike John King, Dana Bash and a whole lot more of them. UUUgh! The only way to verify is to maybe look at the C-span reel again, but even if it's true I really don't care. Faux News, Rush, Hannity and Beck are irrelevant to me and I tell you, if the Obamas sat up there and never smiled and said nothing, these commentators would have something to say. Ed Henry is still mad from getting slapped down a couple press conferences ago from the Prez. The only way I have a voice is to not watch and effect their ratings.

Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 11:09 PM | Unregistered CommenterJanelle

No not the fushia dress...look at the red sheath dress right above it. Its the exact same dress in red.

Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 11:13 PM | Unregistered CommenterDonna No Shock

Oh, Donna, you are totally right. I guess seeing the fuschia dress with the shrug threw me off. It's definitely the red one.

Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 11:17 PM | Unregistered CommenterJenna

@Jenna I think it may very well be Michal Kors, based on what was at Bergdorf's, as you had mentioned.
I'm sure that Mrs.T is on it, and we'll know soon enough

My money is on MARIA PINTO for that lovely pink shift dress. (It kinda reminds me of the Teal one she wore when giving her speech at the DNC). And the necklace for $200...who is TOM BINNS!

Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 11:53 PM | Unregistered CommenterRocky

OK...Where are the Correspondents Dinner hot pink dress pics??? :) I'm all ready to comment on them....SD

Just saw this, I'm loving Desiree's dress. Valerie Jarret looks hot (also heard read that she changed dress to Andrea Michell's but shorter from WWD tweet)

The dress is lovely but not wow; the necklace is very charming. Not that I expect her to wow me all the time, but it's just something about that dress does not look quite right to me (although I do love the springy color). And at the risk of sounding nitpicky, I do not like her makeup tonight; it's a bit overdone, especially around the eyes. Altogether I'll give this look a B.
