Mrs. O Out On The Town

Mrs. O had a lunch date at Good Stuff Eatery on Capitol Hill yesterday. According to the New York Post, Mrs. O ordered the President Obama burger topped with bacon, blue cheese, homemade onion marmalade and a horseradish mayo.
Mrs. O was joined by her staff, including press secretary Katie McCormick Lelyveld. "Sometimes you just need a burger," said McCormick Lelyveld to the Washington Post. "It was her idea."

The FLOTUS looks absolutely stunning tonight, I love the fuschia dress and matching necklace.
I'm going to take a guess that the dress is Narciso Rodriguez, and that the necklace is by Tom Binns.
I just got to see Mrs. O on the CNN stream. LOVE that fabulous bold pink on her. From the little that I have seen, I actually like this dress even more than the Michael Kors number from last week. I couldn't quite see the jewelry but it's like a flower with sparkly detailing. It makes a big statement.
I give the whole look a 10. Brava Mrs. O!
I wish they would pan back to her.... POTUS looks nice but he's not nearly as interesting.
For those of you who want to see the dress tonight, go to the CNN or C-SPAN website, and look at the live stream. At around 9:40pm EST the program will start, and you will likely be able to see Michelle's dress when she gives out scholarships.

And YIKES. Jennifer Loven... I actually do really like her dress. It's like a 40's inspired, lace overlay that never goes out of style. I even like her huge Chola-esque earrings.
But that hair is awful! And President Obama looks really bored talking to her.

I'm with you Jenna, I want to see Michelle now. She always looks like she's enjoying whomever she's talking to...Michelle looks like a lot of fun and pretty funny--the Prez says she tells great jokes and always makes him laugh. The Prez of course has to chat all day everyday and I know he'd rather be at the WH watching ESPN or at least sitting next to his wife then this lady all night.

I'll have to wait and see a close-up photo but when I first seen Michelle's neckline I thought to myself "What on earth is that Michelle is wearing that looks like a RED CHRISTMAS BOW!"

I just popped over on some other blogs including barackobama(dot)com, and other blogs were saying the same thing...that lady would not let POTUS eat. Does he have to listen to her until it starts up again at 9:40pm? I bet Michelle gets an earful on the ride back about his experience! Better yet, I hope Jon Stewart on the Daily Show jokes about it too.
The President looked like he wanted to walk around the room and socialize away from that lady! Poor Prez!

Haha. I am sure Jennifer Loven had no idea that she was monopolizing his time like that. It's probably a little embarrassing. But yeah, he clearly wanted to enjoy his food and maybe chat with the person on his other side and she was oblivious to it.

Now that I see the dress, as Derek said, I first thought Narciso Rodriguez b/c of the color....but, after seeing the photo on getty, the fit reminds me of Azzedine Alaia. I can't see the whole dress yet.
But I'm going with Alaia mainly for the fit. It is very body hugging and reminds me of the black Europe dress.

Wow. This dress is gorgeous. I can't tell it's length but it's probably like some of her other sheaths that reach right at the knee.
I put this look right up there with the Thakoon dress Mrs. O wore to meet Carla Bruni, which is probably my favorite dress she's ever worn. And it's proof that Mrs. O can really shine with even the simplest of elements. A classic silhuette, a bold color and some statement jewelry. I absolutely adore it.
She inspires me to want to look and feel better, and I love that she is so normal, but she still has the class of a 1st lady. I like that she promotes healthy eating but she is true and realistic, because alot of people would love for her to only promote healthy eating but most people dont eat that way, she is not a vegetarian so why pretend to be. I really want to see what she wears tonight

I woudln't be surprised if it was Alaia Janelle, b/c I also noticed how close to the body the dress was cut, it aslo reminds me of L'Wren Scott's dresses but she's never worn her pieces before so I don't think it's her. The reason I went with Narciso though, is b/c the fit reminded me of the black dress he made for her that she wore in Vogue and getting off the plane in Prague.
I don't understand why there is so much griping about the POTUS talking with Ms. Loven. She is the president of the association that is putting on the event, she is the top big wig there representing the correspondents. HE is supposed to be talking to HER.
I posted a link that should be out of moderation soon but head to GettyImages dot com for two great shots including a closer look at the jewelry which is very beautiful and elaborate. I am not always a huge fan of Michelle's "statement" jewelry, but this piece is gorgeous. It looks to actually be two pieces. One a necklace with small orbs of gold studded pearls and then a bright pink starfish pin or brooch pinned maybe to the dress itself.
LOVE IT. And it's like the work of Tom Binn, as someone said above.
Also, I think the dress is Maria Pinto, who I know so many are pining to see Mrs. O wearing again.
I agree with others that getty image has some amazing pics up right now of the dress and necklace. I'm pretty sure it's a knee length sheath dress from what I can tell in the pics

I see your point about the black Prague dress. Should be interesting to find out. I had forgotten that Narciso did that beautiful black number when she got off the plane. And we never saw it without the Alaia black bolero over it.
I'll still stick with my first choice of Alaia, but I think you may be right on this. Wish I could see the full dress though.
