An Emerald Beauty
Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at 8:46 PM Ooh, this looks exciting. President Mr. O and First Lady Mrs. O are both in St. Patrick's Day green. Mrs. O's dress is sleeveless with a bateau neckline, a bit reminiscent of the pleated taupe dress worn during the DNC. We recognize the green bow pins worn at the shoulder. These pins were last worn at Mary's Center in Washington, D.C., and before that, for the second presidential debate.
Update: We are still waiting for a clear photo of Mrs. O's dress to surface. In the meantime enjoy this video of the President's St. Patrick's Day remarks, which also includes a few shots of the First Lady.

I knew she would definitely wear green. I am happy that she still goes sleeveless at social occasions. The lipstick also adds a nice glow. I look forward to seeing a full picture before passing my comments. Nice to see she has brought back her bows and they seem to be working. Can't wait to see a full pic!

Dr. Jill Biden is wearing a lighter green dress and it is sleeveless also!
For those who keep noticing that the dresses are sleeveless! If that is for the benefit of the no-sleeveless crowd, in this occasion, it is more than OK; if anything, if you can handle the weather, it is even recommended. It is a coktail party and it makes one feel fun and feminine! No one does that best than Mrs. O. Most of the people who did not like did say that it depended on the event.
Green is a LOVELY color on Michelle. And this dress looks very sparkly and lively. I can't wait to see the rest

I'm beginning to think Mrs. O asked them NOT to splash photos of her all over the place. I've looked everywhere for a clear photo and have come up with nothing. It's odd, given the availability of pics in the past. Almost seems like she's trying to stay out of the limelight for a little while.

I'm a bit perplexed by it honestly. There were only one or two more images of the President released as well. In his remarks he referenced the huge volume of photographers. Very strange.

Shame there are no more detailed pictures, but Michelle looks radiant in that green that is so great on her, and I'm continually delighted by the President's sense of humour. A world leader who's ALIVE!
