The Mrs. O Effect

A few weeks ago we mentioned a noteworthy fashion panel hosted by Cindy Lieve of Glamour magazine at the 92nd Street Y. Participating were Pultizer Prize winning journalist Robin Givhan of The Washington Post and the king of fashion democracy himself, Isaac Mizrahi. Click here to hear what they had to say about the Mrs. O effect in fashion. We love! (And check out their full Q&As in the Mrs. O book for further thoughts.)

Is there a specific reason why there is no discussion about the lovely black outfit FLOTUS wore yesterday? Was it because of the occasion.......
Hi Julie,
We've been chatting about this on O.Chat. I didn't post, given it didn't feel like the right occasion to focus on Mrs. O's fashion, and this is after all, a fashion blog.
Thanks for your understanding!

The First Lady showed appropriate choices when she accompanied her husband to the Memorial service. It was not the time for bows, belts or classic pins. Her plain black dress, while classic,
suited the sadness of the day. The light coat she wore with it complimented the dress very nicely.
I thought so Mrs T, but she looked s-o-o-o spectacular, she took my breath away.

First lady needs to get rid of that big belt, it does not look good on her.Remember ladies all fashion does look good on everybody. Mrs O should use smaller belts, they would look better on her.
