National Design Awards

On Friday, the First Lady hosted a luncheon in honor of the winners of the 2013 National Design Awards, which are organized by the Smithsonian's Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum. For more on the 2013 winners, click here.
Above, Mrs. O poses for a photo with the National Student Poets award winners in the Diplomatic Reception Room of the White House.
Per the Wall Street Journal, Mrs. O wore a "sleeveless dress in autumnal burgundy and blackberry tones by New York designer Reed Krakoff."

I love how Mrs Obama is quietly touting Reed Krakoff -- his designs are just so all-American with that very classic, simple, well-tailored, clean sense to it--
I love that there's always a subtle but intriguing background to the why and what she wears to events -- I can't wait to read a chronicling of, or the stories behind her clothing choices -- I hope someone tells it since I have a niggling feeling the First Lady won't be --
This looks like a stunningly simple dress, in lovely fall colors. Wish there were more views of it, though.
The outfit has a familiar look to it. I love the "modern" cut.
Please take a look at FLOTUS at the 2013 Congressional Black Caucus Dinner last Saturday. So charming! And making use of belt she wore to the 2013 Inauguration with the coat, http://ionenewsone.files.wordpress.com/2013/09/obama-michelle12.png?w=493
Not sure it is the same belt; the dress shows a bow in the back from the belt (?) on The Obama Diary.
