Must Read Mrs. O

"Many designers were recommended to the first lady by her assistant and style adviser, Meredith Koop. Many created clothes for the big event. Only Mr. Browne’s were chosen to represent a day whose symbolism underscored both the Obamas’ transition from Beltway outliers to establishment fixtures and some unmistakable Camelot echoes in the current presidency."

A wonderful summary of Mrs. O's choice of Thom Browne. The cut was beautiful! I was surprised, however, by the quiet color of the outfit.
I think Thom Browne is brilliant - and deliberately ironic. A man who seeks to shock with the bizarre and the freakish, but who eschews material things and the many obligatory pretenses of the upscale fashion crowd while at the same time consciously or unconsciously exhibiting some of it.
I loved, loved the Thom Browne coat and dress Mrs Obama wore. It was classic, clean, austere but rich, hard but soft and feminine and even sensual in its perfectly form-fitting structured coat and the simple lightness of the heavier silk fabric dress worn on the inside. The outfit will impress and be appreciated for generations to come.
Bravo Thom!
Who knew that Mrs Obama always had a thing for using fashion to drive home important messages:

Same beautiful innocent face, same beautiful arms and body and a marvelously tall drink of striking, effortless sexiness. I think that the fact that she seems as recognizable to us even in this photo from her undergraduate days shows just how incredibly grounded, authentic, consistent and disciplined she always was and remains.
She's hot!
And how is it that she manages to look years younger than her chronological age and so much better than many of these celebrities who are 15, 20, 25 years younger than she is?
President Obama is the lucky one.
I love, love, love Mrs Obama!
Forgot to add this link describing the event Mrs Obama was modeling for at Princeton.

Mrs. O was wearing a purple suit at the Medal of Honor ceremony (picture on the Obama Diary). I'd love to see a closer look.
