Presidential Medal of Freedom Ceremony

On Wednesday, the President and First Lady hosted the Presidential Medal of Freedom ceremony at the White House. Later in the day, they attended a wreath laying ceremony in honor of President John F. Kennedy at the Kennedy gravesite at Arlington National Cemetery.
On the style front: The First Lady wore a Jason Wu custom red organza tweed flounce dress and coordinating coat from the designer's Pre-Fall 2013 collection. The ensemble was previously seen at the State of the Union address in February 2013, here.

Wonderful choice of an outfit to wear to both events.
More coat dresses, please!
I love Mrs. O and I love the red coat, but I don't love the two together. The whole look is missing something... a belt maybe, or maybe a broach, or a strand of pearls. I can't quite put my finger on it, but it's too plain and simple. Hmmmm!
I liked this dress the first time I saw it and love it still and even more. There's just something powerfully appealing about the woman wearing it. There's no denying that this woman Michelle Obama even without trying to be, is a shining star! Blessed with an abundance of beautiful and unique gifts, Michelle Obama was born to this role and for this time. She will continue to touch, positively impact and change the lives of many young people here in America and around the world. Michelle's quiet but enduring greatness has only begun to unfold. She always tells the young people she meets that she's excited for their future and can't wait to see what they become. I'm excited for and cannot wait to see how the greatness of this blessed and powerfully anointed woman unfolds!
I love that the coat color picks up the rich autumn colors of the trees behind her. How often do we think about our clothes reflecting not only the social surroundings, but of Mother Nature's environment, too?!
