Holiday O

This one slipped through the cracks! On Christmas day, the president and first lady visited military personnel at Marine Corps Base Hawaii in Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. For the occasion, Mrs. O wore a black and white Narciso Rodriguez dress, which first debuted in July 2009, here. Note the polish: neon toes added a pop of color!

I never did like this dress...that high waisted look just does not move me.
But, I love the sandals and the look on her face...she LOVES her man!
OH NO YOU DIDN"T ADEAR!!!!!
hahahaha, I'm just kidding with you Adear!! Happy New Year to you and your fam!! I love her sandals too and I peeped out her toes the first time I saw this pic. And look at Mr. O with his vibrant blue shirt. That's a new color for him from what I can remember( yes I do pay that much attention to this First couple, UGH!!!) The inauguration is getting closer. I can't wait!! And it's on MLK day, so I don't even have to request that day off!!! Yeah!!
P.S. Yes she does LOVE her man and he LOVES her!
P.P.S. Pete Souza has the year in pictures up on the whitehouse flickr page. I can't link to it because work has that site blocked :(
@Nyon, its ok woman....you are still numero uno with me;) Happy New Year to ya'
WOW, when I saw that Wonderful toe nail polish in bright, Sunny, Luscious Lemon yellow, I near about Flipped! It's Fabulous!!!! And other what First Lady has been so Daring? (And Michelle Obama Always pulls it off so Successfully because, imo, she is daring while also staying true to what she Loves)! The entire outfit is Gorgeous & I love the bright polish w/the sparkly black sandals & that so pretty, simple, casual, yet elegant dress! The black & white (or cream) color scheme of the dress, paired w/the black sandals really gives our First Lady's pedicure a True Sunny Vibe! Mrs. O is an Absolute Genius w/using Beautiful Color in her wardrobe!!!! I am SO EXCITED to see what she will chose for the Inaugural balls!!!!! Her 2009 choice was so Beautiful, so delicate & yet also dramatic, a gown spun with Dreams, almost like it was made of soft, glittery snowflakes (and the Jewelry she chose to wear w/the Jason Wu gown was SUPERB)!!! With a First Lady who can rock Bright Yellow Toe Nail Polish, it's too Exciting to think of what she will chose for This Inaugeration! (And remember - how can we forget? - the Beautiful Beautiful "lemongrass" wool lace coat & dress she wore, earlier in the day when President Obama was sworn in, w/the beautiful matching gloves, deep teal pumps & the Vintage paste pin at her collar??? I was in HEAVEN, admiring that outfit)!!!!
Lol, adear, I am WOMAN, hear me ROAR!!!
And seriously, I was joking!!!
Hate these empire-waist looks almost as much as the too wide belts...
@Nyon:)
I am not sure if this photo is shown in the American media as well. I happened to find it in the Guardian website. Mr and Mrs Obama colour-match in...what do you call the colour, sandy beige?

Thanks so much for that link, Yukita. 26 photos from Pete Souza I've not seen before. I highly recommend looking at all of them. I laughed and cried.
Don't like this at all. Looks like a gym bra with a towel on the bottom.
Christmas in Hawaii … How cool! :)
I posted under the “A Holiday Frock” blog entry dated December 25, 2012, comments that I had originally posted in “Chat” regarding a wonderful tribute to Mrs. O, published by Essence magazine. The special edition tribute contains lovely photographs of the past four years of uplifting Mrs. O style and substance, along with memorable comments by readers and by prominent American women. I am particularly in agreement with an insightful comment by Kay N of Atlanta, which I think beautifully expresses the essence and abiding grace of our FLOTUS:
"I salute Michelle Obama. She is a Woman Officer of Excellence who is a No Drama Kind of Mama."
Another comment by Tiffany T of Tuscaloosa, AL: "What I admire most about Michelle Obama is how her light from within shines through victory and adversity, and is maintained at all times!"
Under Mrs. T’s blog post “Must Read Mrs. O,” dated December 30, 2012, I’ve already posted my lengthy perspectives concerning the recent NYT article by Cathy Horyn. Here are a few additional thoughts:
Our ‘No Drama Mama’ Mrs. Obama knew who she was long before she ever imagined she would one day be running The White House. Being First Lady has not changed Mrs. Obama. It is Mrs. Obama who has changed Washington, changed what we wear, how we shop, and how we think about women and power. Michelle Obama has forever impacted the role of First Lady, and how it will be viewed in the aftermath of her shining presence in the House she knows and has proclaimed “belongs to the American people.” Mrs. O has made the People’s House more accessible, more inclusive, more captivating, more rockin’ and more of a joyful, refreshing and enlightening place to be.
Praise God above that no matter what anyone says, thinks, or writes about her, Michelle Obama will continue doin’ her thang! I say to those who can’t hang, who can’t keep up, who are uncomfortable with her magnificence, who are blinded by the prejudices of their own vanity and small-minded thinking, who are hard up re vision and perspicacity when they see a confident Black woman, to all those who are a little bit dumbfounded, a lotta bit jealous and completely slack-jawed when faced with the magnitude of Michelle Obama’s astounding and all-enveloping grace, … “TOUGH!”
@flotusrocks, indeed....The First Lady will be a tough act to follow!
Appreciate your comments.
What's wrong with Mrs. O's eyebrows? Whoever plucks them makes her look mean....is this intentional?
