Happy New Year to YOU Mrs. T! Thank you for taking us on such a fantastic journey with your blog since our President and First Lady posed for this memorable photo! I absolutely loved this outfit! I can't wait to see what the First Lady and the First Daughters will be wearing to the Official Swearing-in event....and what the First Lady will wear to the Inaugural balls!
Here's to you Mrs. T. and to the rest of our journey during this second term!
I second Vivienne's comment!
My biggest regret was missing the first inauguration so I made sure that I wasn't missing the second one. I am flying to NY on Thursday to spend some time with friends. We will then travel to Washington over the weekend where our hotel was booked last November 7th !!! I don't care how cold it will be - I am so going to be there. After all the excitement is done, I will travel to Jamaica for an overdue holiday with family. I can't wait but more importantly, I can't wait to see what surprises the first lady has in store for us over the next four years. Like Vivienne said, it has been such an enjoyable journey so far and a million thanks to Mrs T for starting this fabulous blog.
@Jestina I am happy you get another chance to be able to witness history again! Safe travels to you. We will ALL be watching!
And one more event: January 17 is FLOTUS' birthday. Enjoy your trips Jestina!
Yeah for you Jestina!! Be safe as you move from country to country to country.
I am so excited, I can't wait for the celebrations to begin - starting with our gorgeous first lady's birthday. I hope her husband has something really special planned just for her and that it includes some private time alone together before the mad rush of crowds and activities that will ensue.
It must get to a point where it's so irritating to have so many people around all the time and very few private moments alone.
A very happy birthday to our gorgeous and truly spectacular first lady Michelle Obama!!! Many blessings and graces, peace, good health, long life and love always. You rock!!!
So happy for you, Jestina! Enjoy it all! And cannot wait for the festivities to begin, here's hoping for a fabulous sartorial display as well as wonderful celebration of four more inspiring years.
Can't wait!
Waving hard to Eleroy, THC1 & Adear. Thanks for your kind words.
@Jestina (London England)
First of all let me say, that I have always enjoyed reading your comments
and look forward to them because you express so often how much you love the Obama’s and the great historical moment that comes with it.
I always think of my relatives in England when I see your name and somehow just felt a connection to you. I noticed you try to write a few lines as soon as there was a new topic and kept saying you were so excited about the inauguration and can’t wait to see what Mrs. O will wear. I know you are a huge fan and speak for the millions of people around the world who feel the same way but may not have found this site.
I’m not surprised that you are going to the inauguration I always felt your energy and told my girlfriend about this lady from England, who write on this
blog.
I’ve got relatives in Jamaica too. Can’t wait to hear about your experience and I’m so Happy for you……….go Jestina you go girl!!!!! Just let us know when you get back, where you were in that crowd. Blessings for a safe and easy trip.
@Alisa Diez – I agree with your comment, that you hope Mrs. O wears a new dress because “it’s too historic to go lowkey”
I have a list of questions regarding the followers favourite style etc. to post later.
Hi everyone! I will be sittting here in Jamaica glued to my television watching every minute of the world's #1 family at the inauguration. Can't wait to see the lovely family.
Oh Fern Gullie, thank you for your lovely words. Yes, I am a huge Obama fan. I'm just so grateful for having lived through this amazing time in history. I wish my parents were alive to witness it. The Obama's get so much love over here in the UK and in Jamaica, the land of my forefathers. As soon as I arrive in Ja, I will definitely get a tall Wray & Nephew and drink to their continued love, success and happiness. In fact, I wish all the Mrs O bloggers much love, health and happiness for 2013. I can't wait to get to Washington. I'm going to scream myself hoarse with happiness for my favourite couple.
Have a great time Jestina!!
