Out and About

The First Lady has made two appearances since last week's state dinner. On Friday, Mrs. O visited National Guard families in Minnesota, wearing a St. Patrick's Day-appropriate green Michael Kors dress, last seen here, paired with a yellow cardigan and jeweled vintage House of Lavande belt.

On Sunday, the President, First Lady and Sasha Obama attended a chruch service at St. John's Church in Washington, D.C. For the outing, Mrs. O wore black trousers and a plum hued overcoat.

P.S. Thanks for the collective patience while I was away. Hope everyone is having a great start to the week! xo Mrs. T.

What a lovely family.

Point of Interest - The black and red Narisco Rodriguez dress FLOTUS wore on election night 2008; is on display in NYC, as part of the “Impact: Fifty Years of the CFDA” exhibition at the Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology. This show is the brain-child of designer Diane von Furstenberg.

I love Sasha's coat! And Mrs. O's as well. What a cool family.

In the picture below she emulates Carla Bruni. How tacky that her stylists would do that, but Mrs. Obama is no Carla Bruni.

Nice to see that spring-y Michael Kors again.

Mrs. O's coat is beautiful, but I think Sasha wins this one. Love her hair!

I think I read somewhere that Malia is on spring break in Mexico with her class .... don't quote me though....

She belted her blouse beneath the plum overcoat with the one belt with seemingly endless reincarnations...the famed Alaia.

OMG,

Where is it written that wearing a coat over slacks on a cool day is emulating anyone in particular, and for you to use this occasion to cast stones at the first lady with your snarky comment is just ridiculous. This first lady has demonstrated in words and deeds time and again that she's her own person and encourages all women to be themselves and not be slaves to the expectations of others. If you are truly an admirer of this first lady you would understand that by now, otherwise, you are just one of the few idiotic detractors who lurk on this blog to find openings to drop their caustic bombs under the guise of fashion commentary. So OMG, you are not fooling anyone with your crappy comments. I suggest you get a life, your comments are just tired and boring now.
