First Floral

The first lady spoke to Obama campaign supporters at Broward College in Davie, Florida today. For the appearance, Mrs. O wore a royal blue, grey and black floral print dress accessorized with an Erickson Beamon floral pin at the neck. Remember the pin from the 2008 convention? Slingback pumps completed the look.

Is everyone excited for the final debate tonight?

Update: Good work reader nja, who identified the dress as Jones New York, available here.

A lovely ensemble, made all the more beautiful by her natural beauty and graciousness. First Lady Michelle is such a lovely real person. For as much we can see of her, she will be an icon long after her husband's presidencies have faded into the same memory as Martha Washington. However, one might be tempted to think that she will never show up in a cameo design on a loaf of bread.

This is a lovely dress -- very sophisticated and with a good flow to it, yet it still appears fresh and youthful. Go Mrs. O!

Now why didn't she just wear this dress to the debate? Unless it was too much to wear from the day's activities, it was perfect. Blue for the democratic party, appropriate for the event, maybe with a cardigan or jacket. The lace choice was a bit too frilly for the debate. I should probably note that I adore this blue dress but am not a fan of lace!

Mrs. O looks great in this dress. She can make even an off-the -rack dress look couture!

@ Strong Foru, you hit the nail on the head! I really expected this dress to be one of those mysteries where the designer is never revealed. I like the grey cabbage roses(?) amid the black and blue. This is a home run for our Michelle!

How wonderful that the First Lady reuses her pins - showing frugality and appreciation for her beautiful things.. The "Royals" and other celebrities are mocked for this in our consumerist society, which always drives me cray.

It amazes me that sometimes her $139 choices appear 10x nicer than her $3900 choices. I am still swooning over this dress and I think it looks better on her than the model.
