Vibrant in the Buckeye State

The First Lady traveled to Cincinnati, Ohio today, where she spoke at a campaign event encouraging supporters to vote on November 6 or sooner. Today marked the start of early voting in the battleground Buckeye state.
On the style front: Mrs. O layered a mint green dress with a printed, cropped cardigan and statement necklace. A dash of the eclectic! More to follow as designers are confirmed.
Update #1: Mrs. O wears a green tweed dress from the Miss Wu collection - designer Jason Wu's foray into the designer contemporary market. Miss Wu will debut at Nordstrom stores in 2013. The Daily Beast reports that Mrs. O was the first person to be photographed in Miss Wu.
Update #2: Not to neglect accessories, Mrs. O wears a Memory Motel Necklace by Lulu Frost, available here.

what was she thinking most of the times you get it right on the head but this is just too much going on
I kid you not, flotus could run for president and win.
Loving the cardigan!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY WEDDING HIS EXCELLENCY--JOYEUX ANNIVERSAIRE DE MARIAGE SON EXCELLENCE
I totally agree with Jestina!
Triumphant!
Not sure what to make of this outfit. The cardigan is really cool, it definitely is a return to the eclectic, unexpected piece, that is Michelle's trademark. But to pair it with this light green dress, I think does an injustice. There are many other choices of colors that would have looked better with it. I also think the necklace kind of clashes with the cardigan.
I don't like the cardigan with the dress. Separately, they are pretty nice.
Happy Anniversary to FLOTUS and POTUS!! 20 years and still in love. Must be nice!!!
Can't wait to learn more about this outfit; is it one-, two- or three piece(s)?
I envision it as a vest or jumper or dress or shirt? Just not sure. Love the necklace. Can't wait to see more pictures.
@ Babs, that combo certainly is eclectic!
I'm really surprised, this is one of the biggest misses I've ever seen. 'fraid this combo is a puzzlement to me. this is about the most attractive pic of the green dress I've seen. the necklace feels ... some moderne take on a classic Southwest squash blossom design maybe? I suppose by themselves the dress and necklace MIGHT work... although the coloring would be bland with just those two pieces. I have a feeling the graphic on the cardigan is probably gorgeous. IF you could see it. As worn, scrunched up on either side, and moving continuously, it comes across as an unreadable jumble of color. Too bad. It MIGHT work better against a blank canvas, a completely plain white or black or blue or red sheath perhaps? Some color that IS in the design, anyway? Same with accent jewelry, pick a color out of the sweater graphic, rather than something completely new. oh, just saw babs made most of my same points up above, sloppy reading by me.
According to "The Daily Beast," the dress is by Jason Wu for his upcoming "Miss Wu" line, which won't be available until Jan. 2013. http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2012/10/03/michelle-obama-first-person-to-wear-jason-wu-s-new-contemporary-label-miss-wu.html

The First Lady is wearing a green cross weave Miss Wu by Jason Wu dress. The line is the second by the designer and is priced lower than his eponymous line which FLOTUS is a fan of as well. Miss Wu will be in stores in January 2013. The designer sent the dress to Mrs. Obama himself.
The Daily Beast is reporting that the dress is by Jason Wu's new line ... :) I'd love to see it without the sweater
Please also mention the amazing necklace she's wearing from jewelry designer Lulu Frost. http://www.lulufrost.com/item/memory-motel-necklace
How wonderful for Jason Wu to have our Michelle debut his Miss Wu line. There's been a lot of press surrounding it, maybe now someone will find out who makes those chic demi cardigans that she wears. I am swooning over this one! We"ve seen her wear the black one countless of times. Then the white one made a few appearances. However, this one takes the cake! I likey!
I think the dress is a good fit and very nice color. The necklace is right on trend and goes well with the dress. I am not too bothered by her wearing all three pieces together, that's classic FLOTUS. (I could not pull it off) She has fun with her wardrobe and mixes it up. As she says, "wear what you love".
And so she does!
I am obsessed with this look. Michelle is a fashion gladiator!!
