Tuesday Night at Gotham Hall

The President and First Lady attended a DNC fundraiser at Gotham Hall in New York City last evening. On the fashion front, Mrs. O wore a black tuxedo-inspired cocktail dress to introduce her husband. Completing the look were three diamond bangle bracelets by jewelry designer Katie Decker.

There are no words, only exclamations: Wowee! Shazzam! WooHoo! Aaaahhhh!
Love, love, love!
She looks REGAL! I love how she wore a simple black dress and simple accessories, hair pulled back and yet still FEIRCE!
Sizzlin' - Smokey Eye-pale lips ---OOOoooh - la- la
I do like that dress, but it sounds like in these hard times that she spent too much on her bracelet.
Beautiful, just beautiful! I don't think it's any of our business how much or how little she spends on her bracelets.
I love the way she did her eyes really smoky and left the rest of her face quite nude. I also love the bracelets. All round, Mrs Obama looks sensational and TONED, just look at the definition on her shoulders.
Absolutlely STUNNING!!!!!!!!!! What a First Family...God bless Mrs. Obama, God bless our President and God bless America.
Christina, Mrs. O even agrees with me about the gray in the President's hair being sexy!
LOL ;-)
Here's video of her saying it that night: http://theobamadiary.com/2011/09/20/gotham-hall/
I wish I could see a full length shot, but of what I have been able to see, I LOVE!
Okay - this is stunning. Really elegant AND sexy. Wish we could see the length of the skirt and shoes! Are there any photos available??
Bracelets are terrific !
Hey guys, Getty Images has put up additional pics of this event and I can tell you that our Michelle is SMOKIN' in this little number. Makeup is on point, her hair looks nice and those bracelets are to die for! She hit a home-run with this one. When it comes to formal wear FLOTUS knows what to wear to wow a crowd.........MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!
Michelle Obama had a huge salary long before her husband entered politics and/or before he started making money from his books. So I'm sure she could have bought those bracelets if she wanted to. But in this article from Huffington post (click here) they state that Michelle Obama 'borrowed' the diamond bracelets from the designer's showroom.
she is just flawless, people. I mean, really, is there anything more to day? This woman can do no wrong. And she inspires me with her fitness. Love Mrs. O!
Oh God, more pettiness. Borrowed diamonds are an issue. Really?
People appear to be trying to make it one. The President and First Lady continue to do their thing, knowing well that they'll be criticized whatever they decide to do. And we know well now the intentions of anyone giving the Faux News spin of "wow, times are hard and she's spending money on jewelry," don't we? Not good ones. We're back to trying to portray her as Marie Antoinette. It's getting old. She borrowed and showed off the work of a young American designer. How about we put emphasis on that?
Oh Joy of Joys!
This is exactly what I longed for during that long dry spell in August!
(I do respect Mrs. O needing to take a break from public life.)
This tuxedo-inspired cocktail dress and ensemble is divine! And Mrs. O is rockin’ it! One can’t help but smile with pride when looking at her in this outfit.
President Obama does indeed look very handsome and stately with his silver-gray hair.
Peace.
These bracelets are the talk of the town in conservative circles as though she used money from Medicare or Social Security, or that she had her husband to raise property taxes of the elderly to purchase them. Since when have we been so concerned with what our FLOTUS spends on her wardrobe? We are not buying it. SMDH! Politics has become a mean nasty man eating animal.
can't believe the pettiness in the media over her borrowed bracelets. the keyword here being borrowed. they'll find anything to complain about. meanwhile celebs in Hollyweird aren't spending their money none too wisely and no one says boo to them. like it's expected. if anything, the First Lady has drummed up business for a jewelry artist. got her name out there. just as she's done for all the other clothing and jewelry designers that she decides to wear. the naysayers need to find something else to talk about and get over it already.
Mrs. T, is the dress possibly a McQueen? I saw several pieces in his show at the MET that looked similar!
