Regal Ralph Lauren

This evening the President and First Lady are hosting a dinner for Queen Elizabeth at the Winfield House, where the U.S. ambassador to the U.K. lives. For the occasion, Mrs. O has chosen an off-the-shoulder black gown by Ralph Lauren paired with absolutely knock-out jewelry by Tom Binns and a jade and diamond lattice ring by Yewn. Stunning!
The gown originates from the Ralph Lauren Fall 2011 collection, seen here. (Thanks BeeGee!)

I love everything FLOTUS wore on this trip. She looked amazing!!!
@ English Observer,
I’ve been trying to answer your question for the past couple of days….But...I...still…can’t… catch…my…breath!!! She looks so absolutely, stunningly beautiful! So I defer to you and your choices.
Peace.
Now this is what I call "posh". She looks fantastic. Can"t top this!!!!!
Like many posters, I can't stop looking! This dress flatters as no other! Her body vs. the model's body in this gown--no comparison! Mrs. Obama is a real woman with a large physical presence that really fills a gown, not a bag of bones. No zero girl she! This is why so many of us identify with her. Also her use of costume jewelry, jewelry we can afford to own, and the chutzpah to wear it to greet the queen--so what? I think it's wonderful. Her appeal, to me, is that maybe I can wear this gown, this jewelry, too! Her fashion is in that sense accessible.
I agree that President Obama looks bowled over, as well he should!
This is probably the nicest thing I have ever seen Michell wear, it's stunning.
