Celebrating Let's Move

The first lady topped off a day of media appearances to mark the first year of her "Let's Move" initiative to combat childhood obesity with a trip to Atlanta, GA, where she met with students at Burgess-Peterson Academy. Later, Mrs. O spoke about "Let's Move" at the North Point Community Church in Alpharetta, GA.
For her first appearance, Mrs. O paired a herringbone vest with a black top and trousers, all belted at the waist. Later, the first lady changed into an ivory skirt suit.
Update: Hooray for reader Godiva, who informs me that the first lady wore the knit chevron Senal Jacket by Tory Burch, available here.

SHARP and VERY good looking outfit....Just PERFECT for physical m-o-v-e-m-e-n-t. I just love our FLOUS!!!
What is "Let's Move" about?
Looking great Mrs. O!
I can't wait to get our "Let's Move" initiative started this year!
'spring is coming' really, really, where, lol.
love the look and the energy!
I love that wool (tweed) vest Michelle is wearing. Anyone know the designer or where to buy one?
it was wonderful to have our First Lady in Atlanta today! Happily, we had nice sunny weather.
Great outfit, appropriate but also sharp and stylish. I'm a fan of black and grey - boring, I know - so this outfit is soooo relateable to me.
@ Tina Seals: Here's the website for "Lets Move!" http://www.letsmove.gov/ It is Mrs. O's initiative to deal with childhood obesity in our country. It's about incorporating healthy eating and activity into the lives of our youth.
Mrs. T, please make this correction to the caption of Mrs. Obama at North Point Community Church. Ray Of Hope is another church in Decatur, GA that participated with North Point in hosting Mrs. Obama--they are 2 separate churches in different parts of metro Atlanta. I am sure that Rev. Andy Stanley of North Point and Dr. Cynthia Hale of Ray Of Hope will appreciate the distinction.
Love the site and as always, Mrs. Obama looked fabulous in all 3 outfits today. Thank you and keep it going!
Thanks Saundra -- I made the correction!
The ivory skirt suit looks really chic, smart and sassy. It is amazing how "One Woman" can change into two different styles of clothing and makes it look so effortless. I am really loving the ivory suit. Can we see more and the shoes? Now, that is how you wear ivory, the skin tone and makeup is just impeccable. I am ready for Spring, now. Thanks to our FLOTUS and her "LET'S MOVE!" campaign, I really maintained a more healthy lifestyle inspite of the (9) winter storms, last count in NYC. Mostly fruits and vegetable(raw whenever possible). And I look and feel much better. Ladies, seriously, we have to have a desire to change our own eating habits and encourage our daughters, granddaughters, nieces, et, all. It starts with us and it starts at home. I thank God for our FLOTUS for speaking out on obesity. But there are a lot of young girls who are dealing with other eating habits because the fashion industry and magazines dictates who and what they should look like. Not our FLOTUS.....She says, "Wear what you like." I admire her for just being true to who YOU are. She is comfortable and confident in the skin she is in and that is so refreshing.

My favorite color winter white. Just beautiful! Could it be Michael Kors?
I love both outfits. I am glad she is embracing suits. It really polishes her look and empowers her when doing speeches and promoting her initiatives.
The white suit looks wonderful. It's just so perfect for the place she's speaking--a church--but oh-so-chic and well-tailored. Here are a few more views of it from Obama diary, in addition to video of the event.

@ IVA
Black and gray are not boring. There are only people who are bored by gray and black. They'll have to deal with their own boredom in their own way. It's not your problem or your limitation. It's only their thoughts (which you don't have to share).
You say you are a fan of gray and black. Didn't FLOTUS say, "Wear what you love"? She never said apologize for what you love--or wear.
Don't care for the all-black outfit at all. Mrs. O. looks like a Ninja here, and all-black is a bit somber for being around children. The white outfit looks great.
Love! I knew I had seen that vest somewhere before...it's Tory Burch....on sale!!!!!!

She is looking great in both outfits and is right on trend for Spring with that Ivory suit.
That ivory suit is EVERYTHING! *passes out*
Loved both of these outfits! Would love more information about the ivory suit! One little criticism: the skirt to the suit seemed a bit tight.Perhaps a pencil-type design? I share similar issues (although in a petite size) and what I do is order/purchase these types of skirts one size larger than I normally wear and have them tailored. You gotta do what you gotta do! Love her in suits!
@ willet784, Thanx for the link!
@ JadeeLadee, KMSL!!!!!!!!!! I know the feeling, smh.
I know this is about the clothes--but LOOK at the look on those kids faces. How wonderful!
Ms Obama - I love your style. Tell Mr Obama congrats on the not smoking. It's a demon in my life. I am still fighting my battle with the cigs. I will quit !!!
Mrs. Obama has done it again. That black vest has sold out on-line. I wonder how long it'll take for the polka dotted dress to do the same.
Methinks this ivory suit might be the Talbots jacket dress from last year; sleeveless double-faced wool sheath with matching jacket?
Here id the H&M dress that MrsO wore for the tv interviews

I love both looks, especially the ivory suit.
anna just wanted to say good luck on your journey on becoming a non-smoker
Same cream jacket-and-dress combo as when she first debuted the tan boots? I recall a similar outfit during a round of TV interviews a while back.
I LOOOVE seeing her around children. Its prob the one time I don't pay attention to her clothes. Her love for children just oozes from the photos ...and the love and adoration on the faces of the children, sometimes makes me tear up. You already know that they will always remember her. Thanks so much Mrs T for your site .. I check in here everyday.
Mrs. O looks so sharp and toned in her whites. Winter white can't be beat - it is striking, light, and lovely.
I have to agree w/ person who though white skirt looked too tight...but perhaps it is the angle of the photo?
Mrs O has helped J crew a great deal. What about Talbots? Does anyone knows? I think Ann taylor will also be a great for Mrs O. That is my favorite store.
Patient, I love your comments and agree!
What can I say -- I really like the pant-top-vest ensemble. Especially the vest!
That Tory Burch vest is really nice and looks good on our Michelle. It was perfect for the weather that they had in Georgia yesterday and perfect for being with the little ones. I saw some of the pics on ObamaDiary and those little faces were priceless. You could just see the joy in their faces and FLOTUS always seems to enjoy her time with children. All of yesterdays outfits were homeruns, IMO. Also, they were achievable at every price point.
Mrs T,
I have a feeling the ivory suit is the same suit she worn for an ABC interview around the same time last year.

Mrs T, here is a link for the dress if anyone is interested and apologies if you have already posted it. I am loathed to scroll through all these pages.
I just spoke to a store in London and the receptionist who picked up the phone (!!!) said that online orders are flying off the shelf for the dress. At such a price, it's a true bargain.

LOVE the ivory suit. Which is saying something as I am famously anti-suit!!!
She's such a fashionista! Whether she is going casual or buisnessy, she always manages to look marvelous!!! I love the suit too; you never really see Michelle Obama wearing suits but when she does, she looks so "Hilary Clinton", which is great! She is a first lady that manages fashion between casual and buisnessy; suit and dress; and colors or solids! Good bless Mrs. O for being such a fashion inspiration to women through out the world!!!!! Helping them look good in their own skin!!! To exploring fashion a bit more!!!! To trying on that dress they think will look horrible on them!!!! Mrs. O- your work in fashion isn't just ending or starting but continuing!!! Good job to such a fabulous first lady!!!
I love the black/grey outfit ... and, I agree with earlier posters, I think the white skirt is a bit too tight ... Mrs. O has such a great shape, I think she should have skirts modified/tailored for her own personal fit ... so many designers "pretend" we women are shaped like "pencils" ... ha! We're "women" for Heaven's sake! (And that's what the men like, at least the last time I checked!!)
