Twas the Night Before Christmas

Photo by Evan Vucci / AP Images

The First Lady appeared at Children's National Medical Center this afternoon to read "The Night Before Christmas," as has become annual tradition. With Santa by her side, Mrs. O was dressed in a Marc Jacobs print dress, previously seen here. A gold bow pin at the neckline completed the look.

Mrs. O looks fabulous -- but it seems as if she's made some adjustments to the original dress. The bottom is solid here -- you can see that from the skirt in this picture and there are full-length shots on obamadiary as well. Creative re-fashioning!

Our First Lady is such a beautiful person. Love the look; love her. God bless our President and First Lady!

Love the colors! Mrs. O's new winter accesory seems to be boots... she's wearing them a lot!

A little awkward - she might have been more comfortable in pants.

I love the re-mix! (And I know I said this last year, but can't the White House get a more authentic Santa for this event?!)

I loved this dress in Dublin! This is just not a good shot of it, or whatever else happened to it.
Regardless, it is a nice event and she looks very nice. The color is nice for the Holidays.

This dress has a retro 1970's feel to it. I weren't feeling it so much in Ireland but I love it here.

I wonder, sometimes, if there are certain photographers who purposefully take pics of Mrs. O at awkward angles... Hmmm. I also wonder is Santa tiptoed into Mrs O's closet and lifted that black belt. teehee....

By the way this is not a dress. Its a top similar to the dress in Dublin and when she is sitting down it looks like pants simply because she is wearing tights the same colour as the skirt. You may have noticed it is the same color of tights Malia wore on Sunday Service and Sasha wore at the X-mas party
.I guess Mrs.O is sharing tips with her daughters.

The outfit appears to be a skirt and top from one of the photos on theobamadiary.com site.
Any hoo, I love the look; I hope there are some tights left in the stores this weekend, as I will be buying several colors!

Hmmm...I thought those were over the knee boots she is wearing...

Another year with the teen-aged Santa. So funny.

I preferred this dress in its original form, but its fun in this context because it makes me think of old-fashioned ball-shaped Christmas ornaments.

@isonprize, I think you're right about those photographers -- some of those de-planing shots are really unnecessary.

I can cope with policemen getting younger, but it's tough when Father Christmas joins that club.

Great POTUS & FLOTUS picks from their day down at Ft Bragg to welcome the troops home.
Smart black ensemble on Mrs O with a soft white/crimson print blouse top. All those who
enjoy seeing the loving 1st Couple will enjoy these latest pics. Check them on daylife and obamadiary.
