First Lady Mrs. O and Dr. Jill Biden visited Homestead-Miami Speedway for NASCAR’s Sprint Cup finale today to support Joining Forces. After kicking off the race with the traditional "Start Your Engines," they joined volunteers at a special barbeque luncheon for military families, hosted by representatives from companies that have pledged 10,000 jobs for military service members and their spouses.
For the event, Mrs. O turned to a top by Maison Martin Margiela that features a mixed floral and selvedge print (thank you Charlene in Detroit!), seen here in 2009, paired with pinstripe trousers. Dr. Biden wore a patriotic red and blue dress by Michael Kors, seen here in 2010.

Fabulous! Love Mrs. O and Dr. B! Sistas doing it for themselves! Huffpost is reporting that Mrs. O was booed at this event. Dont bother to check the site. Out of hundreds attending, maybe one hillbilly said boo. They are truly reaching for a story.
Mrs. O has also previously worn this top during a return from Camp David.
Here's a blurry picture:

What a lovely photo of Mrs O with the young person at the Joining Forces event. Mrs O's sincerity and warmth truly shine through in her expression and her embrace. Dr Biden is also a great role model for people who want to make a difference with deeds as well as words. More superficially, I really like Mrs O's hair - is this a new cut/style in the past week or so?
Booing ?? Oh please !! That ONE idiot clearly had way too much time on their hands because I can think of a million things that are worthy of booing and the first and second lady are not it. Some people just need to grow up. On a different note they both look exquisite as always.
I'm losing a bit of faith in the Huffington Post, as the reporting seems increasingly unreliable. I think perhaps this booing incident was exaggerated.
From ABC News:
A source traveling with the first lady downplayed the incident, telling ABC News there was no discernible booing during the “loud chaotic program with jets flying over and tons of noise.”
The Associated Press reported that the two women received a standing ovation at the pre-race meeting with drivers, during which Obama said NASCAR was “amazing in terms of its support, not just today but every day, for military families.”
That's just crazy! The people who booed may not like her husband's politics but Mrs. O. has
sponsored some great programs. This is America so you can expect different vocal opinions
but how about good mannmers and respect?
Anyway, they both look very nice.
I believe AOL bought the Huff Post. That is one of the most conservative media taking over one of the most liberal. AOL uses little snippets from the Huff to attract readers. This is a typical sensationalist ploy that AOL uses to get traffic to their news site. It's baloney.
The 1st and 2nd ladies look wonderful. Kudos to them for venturing to all corners of the country to spread their message - friendly territory or otherwise.
There was booing, but it was not significant. Mrs. O handled herself with class and grace as usual. Those people who booed are hateful idiots. Their hatred is so intense that they overlooked the reason Mrs. O was there in the first place, to honor military families, which she did beautifully. I hate it happened, but I know the people she was really there to see appreciated her.
Btw, I love her hair like that too.
Oh, when I read that there was booing at the event I felt badly. Not only for our FLOTUS and SLOTUS, but especially for the military families that they were there honoring. Who could/would do that to the children that were present? Did they stop and think how that must've made those little ones feel? They did not deserve that. They cannot discern the political climate and I'm sure some were frightened as well as confused and hurt. I was happy to see on the news that it was mostly unheard over the noise from the planes, but still, where is the respect?
Onto fashions, both ladies looked really nice. I love that top that our Michelle has on. Last month, I started to bid on the dress on eBay. Then I noticed that it was a size 4. Well, even my skeletal remains whould have a hard time fitting in a size 4. This is a nice casual outfit with the pin-stripe pants.
As always, our First Lady and Second Lady looked wonderful and carried themselves with grace and dignity during this event. Unfortunately there was booing (I saw the footage and heard it myself) and while it was more than one drunk fool (many drunk fools?) it was not the whole crowd for which I am thankful. I am proud of how Mrs. Obama took it in stride. She did the military families she was representing very proud.
