MISS BAKER
Can we get a better view of what the First daughters are wearing?
@Christina, you are right...I don't mind watching Jill Biden either. Mali and Sasha clothing - to die for! Mrs. T THANKS a bunch for pooling these photos together....I am looking forward to the next State Dinner.
Does anyone know what Secretary Clinton was wearing? I'm so intrigued by what I've seen in the photos, but I can't seem to find any full-length shots, or information about the designer. Would love some more information, if possible!!! I love the color and embroidery...
The Obama-Robinson women all look smashing, no wonder that look of total pride and adoration on the face of the President. Can't say I blame him one bit!

Wow, how beautiful our Ladies (Michelle, Hillary, Rosalyn, and Jill) were dressed at the State Dinner!
The First Little Misses and First Granny were rocking also!
SN: For those who "questioned" why Mrs. O wore the black shawl, photo number five is your answer.
Our Presidents were looking great as well (don't want to "slight" the men)!

OMG, the girls are so cute. I still love FLOTUS's dress and overall look.
I know this blog is about Mrs. O, but I must say that, while Dr. Jill Biden is more traditional than Mrs. O, she is always, ALWAYS, sharp. I checked out the Daily Beast link. She has great taste. She looks petite, but her clothes never over-power her. And whenever Jill shares the stage with Michelle, they compliment each other just right!

The Chinese President's wife did not travel with him. I wonder if she sent Mrs.O the shawl as a gift and she decided to wear it as a sign of appreciation. Just wondering, that's all.
@Nic John, You certainly have a right to your opinion. BUT FLOTUS GLOWS!!....The cat fights are over and done, and out. These two women represents and hold their own. They really seem to care for each other and work well together. They do not have to compete. Even Hilary Clinton looks much better and happier than she did when she was in the White House. They are smart, intelligent women who CAN AND DO THINK FOR THEMSELVES. They compliment their husbands very well. As Nyon so elegantly expressed my sentiments....SO?!
Miss o your the string for every collar woman in this time off the world god bless.and please keep challenge the fashion.it looks so good to see you shining.
Can you imagine Malia and Sasha watching their mother dress for these dinners? When I was their age, one of my favourite things was to sit in my mother's room while she dressed for an evening out -- and she didn't attend state dinners or very many formal affairs! So precious ...
These pictures are lovely, Mrs. T. Thanks a million for this mini montage. I cannot erase this grin on my face when I see our Sasha! How cute is she! It looks like our First Granny has some kind of wonderful on. That suit is sharp as all get out. Our SLOTUS is smokin' hot in that navy Reem Acra gown. I sure would love to see a full length shot of Hillary's outfit. She looks incredible. Everyone looks so nice and seems to be enjoying themselves, which is always a good thing to see. Very nice, indeed!
Way to go Jill Biden! In my opinion, here is what she did right: 1. She chose a simple, but elegant design which had one- and this is key- interesting and unique element- the back of the dress. It was a nice little surprise which was FLATTERING. 2. She made sure that the cut/design of the dress was flattering, and did not overwhelm her petite frame. 3. She chose a flattering color. The color not only made her skin glow but also it brought out her beautiful blue eyes. It is always a good idea to bring out one's best features. 4.She visited a tailor to make sure the dress fit her perfectly. 5. Her accessories did not detract from but instead complemented her dress. Very nice! I would love to own that gown!!!
And I'm just going to be real for a quick sec...the reason there is no "Jill Biden Watch" or "Mrs. B" blog is because while Mrs. Biden almost always looks good and on point, she's pretty traditional and safe in how she dresses. I, personally, wouldn't feel the need to follow, much less comment, about the skirt suit she's wearing that's a nice touch of pink, or the navy-blue dress she's wearing with a detailed back.
I am not saying this to be rude to Mrs. Biden - I love her and I like the way she dresses. But she's not trying to get folks talking about her clothing when she dresses. She's dressing to look pretty and appropriate, but unlike Jackie Kennedy and our own Mrs. O, she's not dressing to make any kind of statement, or to show a true love and understanding of fashion. It's not her thing, and that's all good.
Can I say that "Mrs. O" looked to me like "Mrs. Oh no you didn't." I feel like the last few times I have seen her, they have her dressed like a house. She looks heavy to me. Maybe she is pregnant and they are trying to cover it up. Not sure but her fashion sense was not working. Yes the dress is beautiful but I feel like her stylist forgot who is wearing the dress.

Jill Biden always looks great. Great choices always. I too think she could/should be included on the site as always. While I love the Obamas, Michelle's choices are not always the most flattering for her. I get that she is wearing many different designers for many different occassions, but sometimes her choices arent the best. The dress she wore to the Chinese state dinner would have been perfect had she not altered it. She is tall, elegant, the color is bold but that "off" shoulder does not really look good. The daughters are simple adorable and looked great so does Michelle's mother.
I think Michelle looked her absolute best at the State Dinner for India. As for Oscar de la Renta who asked him anything? For years he has dressed many of the first ladies and none of the other designers said a word, now that he is not being chosen he always has something to say. I hope she continues to use many different designers. It's pass time to spread it around. For the record, I think though I am not sure, Michelle has been more diverse in her designer selection than any of the past first ladies which I see as a plus.
Well...I have to say...the fact that some of you think Dr. Biden's dress is better than Mrs. O's is shocking/telling to me. Dr. Biden is a wonderful woman, so let me make it clear that I am only speaking of her choice of dress...Any fashion person, any person who has an eye for clothing knows beyond a shadow of a doubt that while Dr. Biden looks nice, Mrs. O is beyond words....the cut, the color, the design. Everything is amazing! However, I now understand some commenters better now and why they hate so much on Mrs. O.
woman of the us.stop with all the hate comment and be greatfull with those two wonderfull woman.Help them because it is not easy to be so nice all the time.and donnot forget it is more man with power than woman.so they both look great. go Msr O ,Jill and Hillary,.I wish we had a mrs O in Europe.
After reading some of the previous comments here concerning the State Dinner I felt the need to say something. First, in regards to Mrs. Carter's attire, she seems to favor pants and tailored suits, and since her days as First Lady I'd say her fashion sense has gotten better. She always looks well put together, rather conservative in her tastes, but one needs to remember she is 82, so I would say she has a good sense of what looks best for her.
Regarding Dr. Biden, to my eyes she always looks great! She knows what works for her, has a great color sense, and keeps her accessaries to a minimum, and I've always been a believer that less is more. Also, one should know that when she was younger, before her marriage, she did modeling for a local ad agency in Wilmington, and when first in collage, majored in fashion merchandising. Aside from fashion, the fact that she's a community college instructor, and decided to keep working after her husband became VP, makes me love her even more. Some of the best instructors are at our junior colleges, and from what I've read of her enthusiasm for teaching she's probably one of them.
Finally, in regards to our dear Mrs. O, I really liked her dress, but my favorite was the one she wore to the state dinner for the Indian PM, she looked simply FABULOUS!
So let's hear a hurray for the ladies, all of them!
Maria Burns thank you for the best laugh I have had on this site in a while!!! Oh my stars that was good. Very amusingly done. I don't think anyone has tried that trick for .... ooooo, three months???
Nic John comes in second with the "I always think Dr Jill Biden is "the best dressed" than Mrs O." RILLY? Goshkins. You hid that so well, we'd never have guessed. Even if you did miss out the word 'rather' in your hurry to slag off the First Lady. Again. It's a lovely hobby you have dear I hope it keeps you warm at night.
I too would have liked to see what Hilary Clinton is wearing - she looks great from that little view we get in the last picture.
I've already commented on Mrs O's superb outfit. She looks incredible and it's a really thoughtful, tactful choice. End of.
The lady on the right in the first picture, showing President Hu from the car to the portico, is that the "new Desiree Rogers" (sorry, I forgot her name)? Any full pictures of what she is wearing? Any full pictures of Hillary Clinton?
This dress for Michelle is not my favorite, although I like the reference to red vis-a-vis the color of the Chinese flag.
That red dress was a show stopper! The First Lady commanded everyone's attention with it. She didnt say a word, yet all eyes were on her. Talking about upstaging the guest...laugh...now that is power! She looked beautiful!

Dr. Biden hit a home run! WOW!

That dress...(swoon)
Roslyn Carter wears pants to a State dinner? Wrong.
It's Official, SLOTUS needs he own fashion blog! The back of her dress? SUPERB! Also, Mrs Robinson is looking SHARPER than a double-edged sword.
Sorry SoccerNana, still hate the shawl with that dress :-(
