New Orleans Bound

The Os are headed to New Orleans, Louisiana before returning home to Washington, D.C. after 10 days of vacation on Martha's Vineyard. To board Marine One this morning, Mrs. O paired a white scoop neck tank with a full black skirt and flats. Often when the first lady turns to a black and white palette, she relies on an accessory to deliver a bright pop of color. It appears said accessory, a lime green tote we've seen Mrs. O carry in the past, was borrowed by her daughter Malia for this occasion. Hopefully the Os enjoyed plenty of rest and relaxation while they were away!
Update: Just a few hours later, the first family has already arrived at Louis Armstrong Airport in New Orleans, Louisiana. Mrs. O is wearing a floral dress we first saw almost a year ago in Miami, here.

I love the white blouse - I'd put that in my wardrobe. The ombre dress is lovely on her now as it was a year ago.
Nyon - hehehe - nasty with sugar coating is called passive aggressive in my book!
Those girls are growing up fast - and they are such lovelies.
The floral dress is perfect; I dont remember it from last year. Cool how she dresses to suit the area.
Thanks for sharing that link Mckinley. It looks absolutely fantastic and about time too!! I think it was very important to begin anew and especially invoke good energy for President Obama. Fantastic, very tastefully done and with such deep meaning - consistent with this amazingly decent and dignified President.
Mrs Obama does dress with an instinctive even if subtle nod to where she's visting at any time. It's pure genius and all effortless too. She rocks!!!
Her dress is so right for her.
The Oval Office now looks so calm and comfy with beige and brown as the main colors.
well, i don't super love her boarding outfit, though to be fair, many of us including myself board long flights in sweats. i think the real problem is that we are inundated with too many pictures of anorexic models. it leads us to believe that's how women's bodies are really shaped and that mrs. o's figure is somehow "large" when it's really quite normal for her height.
in any case, i do super love her arrival dress though. it looks like it was cut and tailored to fit her body exactly. even if you don't like michelle in unstructured tops and poufy skirts, it's hard to find fault with her in fitted sheaths!
I love the minimalist look of the Oval Office. I especially like the idea of the quotes around the rim of the rug. That idea seems to pick up on the fact that President Obama uses words so eloquently. He has chosen beautiful examples of the use of language. I am so happy that he has been given the opportunity to decorate to suit his personality. Have we ever had a President who has not been given the opportunity to decorate the Oval Office according to his personal taste?
