Gap x Sophie Theallet and Monique Pean

Image via NY Mag The Cut

Sophie Theallet and Monique Pean, two rising design stars in Mrs. O's style repertoire, were honored as CFDA / Vogue Fashion Fund winners this year. And now, for a limited time, their creations are being offered in a special Gap collection at semi-reasonable price points. Of note, the featured styles have a strong resemblance to pieces worn by the first lady, seen here and here, which makes this a chance to get a Mrs. O look for less! Check out more photos of the actual pieces here.

Per The Cut:

Monique Péan created twelve pieces of jewelry for Gap, which include her dyed coconut bead and buffalo-horn necklace is $248, while her twine and buffalo-horn necklace is $198. Sophie Theallet's gathered top and ruffle-tier dresses are $248 each, while her tie-front dresses and skirts run $198 each and her tie-front top costs $148.

The collection is available exclusively at Gap's pop-up shop in NYC:

680 Fifth Avenue (between 53rd and 54th Streets)

Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Sunday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Thanx Chrystelle......enjoyed the video. Mrs. O looked absolutely stunning, love the dress and the belt worked so well with it. As a matter of fact the family looked great.

BTW Mrs. Robinson alway so graceful as ever.

These are really nice ideas and I wish Monique Pean and Sophie Theallet the very best with this venture. How wonderful is it that our Michelle's having this type of impact & influence on our society? I cannot remember anything or anyone like her before. We are so used to seeing people contributing with their own monetary gain as the foremost and obvious motivation, whereas with FLOTUS, just people living better lives seems to be her reward. No commercial endorsements or collaberations, just acts of generosity that helps us enrich and uplift our lives. Great job!

Why why why only NYC pop-up store?!!!!!

I'm gonna boycott Gap Online until they offer Sophie's skirts.... Or, until they return to a decent waistline for their khakis (my ten year old pairs have patches on their patches.)

Mrs. Obama looks so comfortable and stylish in the pretty dress! I found a picture of her in it and her shoes are really cute, too!

Does Gap not think that women outside of NYC would not want this dress? Boo! It should at least be available on line too.
