Hidden Gem

Thanks to Janet25 for drawing our attention to this lovely, new White House video. The Vice President and Dr. B kicked off the annual Wounded Warrior Soldier Ride to Annapolis, MD, with an event on the South Lawn of the White House yesterday. Delivering a heartfelt message, Dr. B dressed in a smart Spring tweed suit. Mrs. O makes a brief cameo at 0:58 of the video, wearing an absolutely breathtaking floral dress accessorized with pearls. A must see!

Oh ! it looks like a lovely dress. Can we see more of it?
My jaw dropped when she walked by, love the dress, accessories, and her hair. Perfect ten in my book. In other news politico has reported that Mrs. Obama will be joining Pouts for Dr. Height's funeral today. He will be giving her eulogy.
Everyone have a wonderful day I'm off to my next class.
Breathtakiing indeed, I gasped when I saw it. Mrs T, any details on the designer yet ?
I am so glad to see the VP and his wife getting involved in worthy causes. I love the fact that they have been very visible right from the campaining days. Mrs Biden looks hot. I'd have no qualms about reaching 59 if I maanged to look as good as her. Simply stunning.
LOVE MRS OBAMA DRESS HER HAIR IS OUT AND SHOES. JUST SAW THE WAKE OF DR.HEIGHT MR OBAMA DID A NICE SPEECH ABOUT HER AND MRS OBAMA IS WEARRING A BLACK DRESS WITH A BLACKSWEATTER AND BLACK SHOES HER HAIR IS SLICK BACK AND SHE IS WEARRING HER PEARLS THAT SHE WEAR YESTERDAY SHE LOOKED TRIED AND SHE HAD BANGLES TOON AND OF COUSE HER WEDDING RING.
Thanks Janet25 and Mrs. T. Enjoyed the video. The Biden's speech very moving and inspirational.
FABAM!!! Spicey colours. Green shoes makes the look perfect. Very current, as print is in this season. Design and style fits her figure perfectly. Love the satiny sheen in fabric. FAB U LOUS HAIR.
@Ashley Williams have a great day too.
i hope a picture of her in this dress surfaces soon. she was at a dinner in her honor organised by the congressional spouses club yesterday in this dress.
That video with the Bidens and the Wounded Warriors was amazing.
And, Mrs. Obama looked beautiful in the flora dress. Hope we are able to see more of it soon.
Is it my imagination or does the dress have 60's vibe to it and therefore a resemblance to something that Jackie may have worn back in the day?
Dr. B rarely gets it wrong...................Mrs. T, you should start a Dr. B website (managed and maintained by someone else, of course because this one keeps you busy enough! LOL!) That color on her is stunning! She knows how to dress!
WOW is all I can say about that dress the FLOTUS was wearing! She is wearing a lot more outfits that flatter her shape (are you sure she doesn't have someone she knows reading this blog and passing on comments to her?!)
Great dress for our FLOTUS indeed! From this quick glimpse, the style seems similar to the orange dress she wore for the Olympics event last week. Can't wait to see what she wears to the White House Correspondents Dinner on Saturday!
dang. i saw it yesterday and was thinking about drawing your attention to it too. great(lol) minds think alike.
Oh MY. Mrs O looks ravishing in that dress.
Dr B looks gorgeous in her spring tweed too, that's a fabulous colour for her. Great hair too!
Great video. Dr. Biden has such a classic style and Mrs. O is classic with a modern twist. Together they are two phenomenal women! the sky is indeed the limit.
Mrs. T, you are so right, that dress is absolutely BREATHTAKING. Hope we learn more about it!
I don't mean any disrespect at all because I think Dr. Biden is amazingly gorgeous, brilliant and has a huge heart, but I wish she would update her hairstyle. I think she'd be a knockout in a shorter modified bob with a couple of soft layers and maybe a bit more depth in color.
AsiaticScot, I agree - the dress definitely has a 60s Jackie vibe to it with that full skirt and neckline/collar. The print is fresh, however!
seeing so much of dr biden preforming duties, i realize it took time for me to remember who the previous second lady was, lynn cheney. dont remember being as busy as dr biden.
Amazing! That was a showstopper of a dress!
Mrs. T, on Wednesday, I attended the annual First Lady's luncheon, hosted by the Congressional Club (spouses of Members of Congress and Cabinet officials), at the Washington Hilton Hotel. Since my company was one of the sponsors, me and several colleagues had the pleasure of attending the VIP reception that preceded the luncheon, where we had the opportunity to greet Mrs. Obama in a receiving line. This is the dress she wore to that event. I have to tell you, it was absolutely beautiful on her -- as you can clearly see from the picture. And the shoes (I heard they are Jimmy Choo) were to die for! I noticed the pearls and brooch too! And, as always, her haIr and make up were impeccable. She's so beautiful and elegant. After I made a plug about what my company is doing in the food nutrition (health and wellness) space -- to which she favorably responded, I told her about this website and how she has a devoted following. I told her that this blog discussing her fashion choices might sound shallow but that it really isn't -- that people are genuinely interested in fashion or learning more about fashion (style, design, shape, fabric, designer, etc.). I explained that those who post comments really are very supportive of her -- not just about her style but also about the issues she promotes. I told her no venom is allowed -- it's a hate speech-free zone! She was genuinely interested in what I was saying. I may have lingered a bit too long because I got the hook from stage right! LOL! Mrs. O complimented a friend of mine who went through the line a bit behind me -- she said she loved my friend's necklace, and my friend told her that she bought it at J. Crew. I'm told Mrs. O got a kick out of hearing that it came from one of her favorite places! Anyway, I'm not sure why there aren't pictures of her in this dress at the luncheon, which I thought was covered by the press. I could have sworn I saw photogs but maybe not. (Mrs. T, I emailed you earlier today to alert you to this event because I was wondering why there wasn't a post from you about it.) Now that I think of it, I don't recall seeing a media "guidance" for this event but it was definitely an "official" event so that's kind of weird. Oh well. I'm just happy that I got to see her up-close again and I wasn't disappointed this time either -- she comes across as a very warm person -- like she could be one of your girlfriends who you hang out with shopping and having brunch or whatever. Again, she was on point that day and she rocked the dress and shoes! I'm sorry for such a long post but I had lots to say today! :-)
@Accidental Lobbyist, that is very exciting! Thank you for sharing your story, and what a fun event! Coincidentally, one of my coworkers is the granddaughter of a former congressman and was also in attendance.
@canyongal, I do hope to cover more of Dr. B's style from time to time, and perhaps on a separate page at some point.
No word on the designer of this dress just yet!
lol accidental lobbyist. i always wonder what I'd say if i met Mrs. Obama. i would be speechless. when i met her husband in Chicago in 2006 i was so star-struck, it was shameful. really shameful.
anyways, Michelle is the reason i now run every other day. to me, there is no excuse to live a sedentary lifestyle if Michelle, over 40yrs old(lol, don't know her age) works out on treadmill every day. simply no excuse for this young woman. I'm on my way to a more heart friendly lifestyle.
if i met her i'd cry and tell her i deeply admire her and think the world of her and her beautiful family.
The Obamas and Bidens are doing well as our President and Vice-President. I love that their wives, the First Lady and Dr. Biden work so very well together. Both women look very good for their ages and I am really impressed with their commitment to Community Service. I hope I look as good as they do as I age. Ciao Bellas!
Hooray, Mrs. T! I think Dr. Biden looks amazing for her age! She is beautiful inside and out. No wonder the VP adores her!
@moi: When I attended the luncheon last year I was totally tongue-tied. I couldn't get past how beautiful her skin is (flawless), how tall she is, and how thin she really is in person. ! At another event last year I shook her hand at the rope line and, again, I was tongue-tied. This time I was determined to pull myself together but it's hard not to be a little awe-struck. :-)
Absolutely breathtaking! I LOVED IT :o)
It's been tough finding any images from the 2010 Congressional Club Luncheon, but one of the local Atlanta news anchors attended and posted a short slideshow of some images. One of them shows Mrs. O at the head table in that stunning dress. Another shot has a view of her on the big screen as she spoke.

That dress is stunning. I would love to know more about it! :D TEN!
Me: almost got watery eyes... almost choked...
As my grandmother would say, "That is one snazzy dress!". Wow, what a treat, so very colorful. I like it a lot!
