LANVIN ♥ H&M

Mrs. O style devotees won't find bow blouses or polka dot sheaths in Lanvin's collection for H&M, but there are plenty of gems to be had, including flirty party dresses galore. After weeks of teasing in the blogosphere, the collection is set to debut November 23 in U.S. stores. Amy Odell of New York Magazine has a review of her top picks, here. The look book and full collection video follow above and below. Enjoy!

What's the connection to Mrs. O? This post seems a little off point. I like your site, but this makes me wonder, for the first time, whether you occasionally accept payment or other consideration to feature certain designers or makers. I don't like having to wonder about that.
The India/Indonesia trip is on the horizon. I can't be the only one salivating over the splendid sartorial treats Mrs. O is destined to offer.
Dear Selena,
The connection is that the first lady is a fan of Lanvin (hence the reference to the bow blouse and polka dot dress). The collaboration with H&M makes Lanvin accessible to a broader range of women. I'm personally excited about the collaboration, thought it would be relevant, and therefore posted it. I've done the same with past Target Go International Collections, Isabel Toledo for Payless, etc.
To be clear -- No payment was offered or accepted. The only revenue generated from the site is from advertising in the right column. Legally, I must disclose if I have accepted payment or gifts as incentive to provide editorial coverage. This would be a "sponsored post," which I'm not opposed to, but have not done to date. Hope this clears up any confusion.
I will just add, as I'm afraid the tone of this comment has touched a nerve...I really value readers input about what I should and should not cover on the blog. At the same time, I'm starting to find it crippling. If I write too much about Michelle Obama it's "political", if I cover other political figures "this isn't the so-and-so blog," if I cover other topics in fashion it's "off-topic" or "what is my incentive?" I realize that I'm being defensive and sensitive, and also that we, especially American readers, are in a highly distrustful and skeptical state of mind. I just find it all a bit exhausting! And truthfully, it often makes me wonder if I should continue this blog. That's not meant to be a threat, but it does all weigh on my mind. Photos of Michelle Obama with a line about what she's wearing can be found on New York Magazine or The Huffington Post daily. If I am just doing that, what is the point?
I will continue to listen, but I've reached a point where I need to be more discerning in the feedback I take on board, and come to terms with the fact that not everyone will be happy all of the time.
Best,
Mrs. T
Mrs. T, Re your response to Selena: well put! Your blog is amazingly informative - your commentary well-researched, insightful and a pleasure to read. The vast majority of us - globally, in fact - find your efforts and this site a welcomed, positive and refreshing respite. You've developed quite a community of followers here that appreciates you and your efforts in promoting Mrs. O as the role model she is to so many of us. Keep up the great work!
Dear Mrs T -- please don't be discouraged (and I wondered at the tone of (that opening) comment also, sounds to me like maybe she's upset about something else???) THANK YOU, Mrs T, for all the work you put in here. And I do REALLY appreciate the civil tone you promote!
I'm only moderately a fashionista, but I'm quite interested in what and how you are doing this blog. It is, IMHO, a fascinating blend of fashion, MO-fashion, and relevant international notes. It is also extremely timely, you often manage to get highly "readable" photos up before other sites, and consistently so.
Melissa, I co-sign.
Mrs. T, in my crazy-crazy world (I deal with the public), this blog is my little slice of heaven. You are doing a fantastic job! I thank you so very much.
Mrs. T- please continue to do just what you do!!! I stumbled upon this blog late 2008, and although I may not comment as often as some, I visit the site daily. I enjoy Mrs. O's fashion, and this site celebrates it. Even on days like today, when Mrs. O has no public appearances, you still try to upload and give us something to discuss, i.e. Lanvin and H& M (both of which Mrs. Obama has worn). Thank you so much for all that you do and please continue to do it!
Mrs.T, this blog is YOUR blog and all the commenters are coming here as GUESTS. Selena Kyle's questions - as a guest - are rather irritating (to say the least)!! If someone isn't interested in a link or doesn't see the connection or whatever, it's quite simple - don't click on the link!
I appreciate the larger view of fashion as a part of culture that is offered on this site - and it goes without saying that comments may touch sometimes other issues or people ...It's a nice place to exchange and open-up your mind and I would be very sad to lose it!
Mrs. T., I also hope that you will continue your blog. I have never commented, so perhaps in that respect am like the thousands (or more?) that quietly follow your blog. I just check this a few times a week, and also enjoy seeing what Mrs. Obama is up to in the fashion arena. We all live and work in a time when everything is so serious and it is nice to have a brief respite from all the 'bad' news that swirls around us. I call this blog my "guilty pleasure" and it is a welcome break in an extremely busy day that takes 1-2 minutes and is fun. Please do keep up the good work (and I am sure it is a lot of work to put this together), and know that you are appreciated.
Mrs. T, please don't be discouraged. I know the ones who appreciate the blog, far out number the ones who don't or are skeptical about it. I love this site and it is the first one I check everytime I get on the computer. Not only to check on Mrs. O, but to check on the friends that I have made on this site. Your blog has helped me become friends with some of the most wise and nicest women I have ever met. I know it is just a fashion blog for some people, but it is more than that to me and I want you to know that I truly appreciate it. So, dust your shoulders off and keep it moving ;-)
Thanks so much,
Nyon
Hi Mrs. T.
It is said that you can please some of the people some of the time, but you can't please all of the people all of the time. This is a wonderful blog as is. I think it's great that you have listened to feedback and made some adjustments, but in the end your name is on the line. Your judgment has been good and YOUR blog is a nice vice for many. I just want to encourage you to keep up the great work, and I will continue to be frequent visitor.
Mrs. T--I have never posted before, but have visited your site for over a year. I've even gone back to the very beginning and looked at ALL the pages since you started the blog. I hope your exhaustion is from all the activities in which you are engaged, and that (with a deep breath and maybe a good wine) it will pass. Please continue this site.
I live in the Central Valley of California (a fashion wasteland if there ever was one) and this is my "guilty pleasure", too. I have really studied how the First Lady dresses, and appreciate the effort you have put into bringing us different ideas. I have expanded my wardrobe, updated my jewelry, experimented with different accessories, and have learned a great deal about new and upcoming designers. Unless I spent hours at the computer or at the malls, I really could not have done this without you and your site.
I think most people are very, very supportive of what you do. Unfortunately, there are haters in every area of life. They used to live under rocks (or hang with other low-life) but the Internet has allowed them to feel important by being able to spread the hate. Pass it on by and keep up the good work.

Mrs. T , I feel overwhelmingly compelled to join in and comment as I have only done so once before when I posted trying to win the dress you were giving away ): I discovered this site when you started in 2008 and it has been my daily escape and for that I thank you. I have never missed a post and I visit during the day for any updates and to read comments. I am very proud of the work you put in this site and I would be utterly dismayed if you stopped or made any changes to suit these "bad-mind" people who come on here. I do not live in the United States and I can assure that there are thousands of us from other countries who are interested in the fashion of Mrs. O and its related topics. Personally I have learnt a lot over the past two years and I now have a cardigan....even though it is not entirely appropriate for our weather ):
BTW the term "bad-mind" is one which we use in my neck of the woods to call out anybody who is envious or who generally never have anything good to say about oher people. Please, please just ignore them and keep up the fabulous work you have been doing. It is truly appreciated.
Mrs.T ,
Thank you for running such a wonderful site. This blog has become a sort of escape and safe haven for me. I totally understood why this post was related to Mrs.O and frankly I found Selena's comment to be quite rude. She could have easily e-mailed you a question about promoting brands and accepting payments. Plus, questioning your integrity like that in a public forum is just tasteless. However, please don't let things like this deter you. I love that you incorporate other issues surrounding Mrs.O into this blog. I think years from now your blog will be one of the best kept records of Mrs.O's activities, fashion and her overall time in the White House. I know negative comments can really get to you after a while, but please know that you have literally hundreds more that love and support all that you've done here.
Keep up the good work Mrs. T.
Now, on to the clothes. Looooooove!! Alber Elbaz is a true genius. Every dress is super adorable and true to the classic and feminine Lanvin aesthetic. The shoes are amazing as well. I want the red ones so bad! The black one shoulder dress kind of remind me of the one Mrs.O wore in Norway and at a White House event. I can't wait for it to hit stores!
Mrs. T, thanks so much for responding and explaining your policy sponsorship policy and reasoning for expanding your coverage. Like many of the others who have commented, I really enjoy blog, so I'm very happy to hear that you do not accept financial consideration for any of your postings and that I can trust you to cover only those things that you find personally interesting and worth sharing. I'll continue to follow you. Selena.
Please don't stop this blog! It is a place I come to after a long, drama-filled day to just look at and discuss FASHION. You are doing a great job, Mrs. T. If anything, you are generous to a fault because some of the comments that post are truly unkind. You should just delete the ones that YOU feel are detrimental to the tone and purpose of this blog.....after all, you are the moderator/creator.
Huff Post does put up amazing pictures but the discourse about the outfits is horrendous and often juvenille.
I would be very sad if I couldn't stop by and "chat" and offer my opinion on what Mrs. O is wearing!
I totally love the work your doing Mrs. T...plz don't feel discouraged...this site has been informative, stimulating and a breath of fresh air....I really like MO's style and diversity <3 <3 <3 ....keep it going!
Thank you all for the kind words and reminder of how many people still enjoy the blog! My comment above was really about a series of comments that have been made over the past few months, which frankly, start to get to me ... whether they should or not.
Well, with that behind us, I'm very excited to see what Mrs. O wears in India! xx Mrs. T

Well now Selena, you don't "have" to wonder about that. There is no pressure on you at all. You could of course take your nasty suppositions and accusations somewhere else..... or perhaps trust that as Mrs T has her finger on the pulse of Mrs O's wardrobe and you patently don't, that she is making a very pertinent comment. Mrs O has worn both Lanvin and H&M so it is interesting and only natural that Mrs T would author a post on this collection. Duh. It's not your blog anyway, I don't know why you would be rude enough to comment on what the owner of the blog writes.

Mrs T
It's your blog. It's a beautiful blog. It's beautifully designed, you post information regularly, you write lovely pieces and you cultivate incredible relationships with designers so that we get deals with shops and nice glimpses of behind the scenes at some fabulous fashion houses. You keep it neutral, informative, respectful. And it's YOUR BLOG. You blog about what the hell you want lady, and you say what you want, feature photos you like. End of. If anyone else feels that they need to tell you how to run YOUR blog, they can go off and start their own blog and update it daily, create relationships with designers, conduct interviews with journalists, be the go to for wardrobe references for Mrs O. I'd bear in mind that these breezy and snide comments are really only a) jealousy that you thought of it and they didn't, or b) envy that you carry it off with panache when they couldn't or c) politically motivated sneering from the irritated right. Frankly, these people need a slap. I mean, for being dull rather than anything else. And dullness is a CRIME. You run a fabulous blog. Vogue said so. 'k??

HILARIOUS! Thank you!

Those one shoulder LBD's are so British Vogue, 1992. Ha! Awesome.
Mrs T,
I am one of many irregular posters, who nevertheless reads this blog diligently. To echo previous posts, I've been a follower from the beginning, and would hate for you to stop delivering this insightful service just because of a few haters. Nastiness of course can sting especially after countless attacks, but Mrs T, I urge you to dust yourself off and keep going for the sake of the many more of us that come here for some respite and who very much appreciate what you are "volunteering" to do.
Hi5 to all Mrs.T fans! Mrs.T, I salute and appreciate you so much for starting this blog! You`ve given so many people like me a thousand reasons to check and double check our fashion choices, you know, not just wear any shoes or accessories with any outfit. You see, this blog may have started as one just about Mrs. O, but its expanded into a "culture" as one of the posters said. People come here to learn and not just about fashion. Alot of great discussions take place in the blog section as well. And guess what, you`ve done it all in a graceful , patient very down to earth and almost tutorial way. Totally not the condenscending route that some of the "fashion experts" follow. Now a lady like me in Africa can also boast of cardigans, belts, sheaths and flats a la Michelle Obama, but its all thanks to you. God bless you and please keep up the good work, with your creativity, the sky is the limit for you!!!
P.S. How can I access your book from Nigeria?
Thank you all for the kinds words! I do want to stress that I'm beyond grateful for the wonderful opportunities that have come about from the blog, which would not exist without all of you. I hope I did not sound ungrateful above, as that was not my intent, and I do fear it has come across that way to some... Perhaps I should have taken my own advice, and stopped to pause and take a deep breath before commenting. A lesson learned!
@Joss, Sadly I don't think the book is available in Nigeria, but I appreciate your interest!
