Reverse and Repeat

Image by Saul Loeb / Getty Images

The president and first lady are in Cleveland, Ohio today, where they are scheduled to speak at a Democratic fundraiser before traveling south to Columbus for a DNC rally. Landing in Cleveland, Mrs. O wore an inventive lace up top (last seen in reverse! as the Os were off to Camp David a fews ago, below), paired with blue trousers and flats.

Wonderful! Love that top.... I had assumed that it was a cardigan worn in reverse (who hasn't done that?!) but from the line of the silk I think it's an all-in-one... very lovely all the same.

Very nice. We will all start wearing our cardigans both ways; double-use. The all blue is very
nice on Mrs.O. I think she is appealing to their fans in Ohio; a designer dress and coat would not have been right for this trip.

She looks fabulous wearing this top either way. Really like the versatility and creativity, both in the clothes and FLOTUS!

Not fond of the top. The lacing on top of the print is too busy.

However, I'd really like to see a closeup of the wide-collared knit jacket on the woman on the far right in that picture. It looks interesting.

Love the look. Both the first lady and my president are rocking great casual looks.

Mrs O is putting the fun in style.

I love the cardigan. This is such a great casual but stylish travel outfit. This should inspire all of us to find a more stylish look when we travel. This could take us from the plane to any event without having to stop and change.

I've never worn a cardigan in reverse -- very creative! Love the combination of blues.

This is a really cute traveling outfit. One that I would wear. I am a little disappointed this is what was chosen for the DNC rally. I don't know...I guess I was expecting something else. This looks to staged and planned to me. I hope she is not being advised to be her fashionable self. She is FLOTUS and has earned that postion.

Here's an interesting article on President Obama....

I love our First couple so much!!! Mrs O. looks so divine and yet so relaxed in that lovely, feminine top. Where to buy that top? It's very pretty and unusual and what a feminine, funky, sweet addition to my wardrobe. I desperately want it!

I like the look. I especially like the way Mrs Obama makes shoes are part of her emsemble. I used to be one of those people that stuck to dark shoes and maybe the odd coloured pair for special occassions. However, this summer, I was as happy as a sand boy when I picked up some expensive green shoes and red flats at a rock bottom price in the sales. She has really inspired me to step outside of the box.

Campaigning is hard work. I wish her well. She's a true asset. In a way she reminds me of Princess Diana. I'm sure America realises what an amazing first lady they have. We hardly ever see the wives of politicians over here. Mr Cameron's wife has been spotted recently since she had her baby but I don't even know what Nick Clegg's wife looks like. These ladies could really make a difference by spending a few hours in a local school like Michelle does or maybe visiting a day centre for the sick, elderly or disabled.

It's funny, I loved how she wore this top/sweater the first time, but I am not feeling it with this outfit. Not exactly sure why. I think she has been rocking the casual outfits (like her voting outfit, and her early October travel outfits), but this isn't it. Maybe the pants don't quite fit right? But even that makes me like her more. We all look better some does and not quite as great on other days!

Does anyone know where to get this top? I love its versatility and the shade of blue. It's a great addition to her wardrobe.

I like everything except the stringed part, that just closes off the look and looks too busy.

Just as I posted last evening on this site, I like this top worn both ways.

I love the contrasting hues of this outfit. Anyway shades blue is my wardrobe staple. The versatility of the top worn both ways looks great to me. I want that top.

okay first of all, I love how her pumps match that little bit of blue in the blouse. Fabulous. I watched this rally and they are just wonderful....such a great team. At the end when they went to the front row and shook hands for about 15 minutes, I began to weep as I saw white hands and brown hands all reaching and squeezing their hands and yelling out. "we love you Obama!" I know it's a "picture" and a moment in time....but I wish that is how it could be....all of us working together with no color lines. God bless our President...keep him safe and keep us moving forward in a positive way.

So who made the sweater? I want to buy one!!!

Monday, October 18, 2010 at 1:07 PM | Unregistered Commenterjane

I understand her need to be casual and comfortable while on the campaign trail.

I think it speaks volumes that she is the type of woman who can effectively campaign for her husband - not all our First Ladies have had this ability.

The outfit is a bit busy for my taste but I also think she is concentrating on her message and putting fashion aside for this particular day.

She is remarkable !

(Off topic, I know.)

That man and that woman LOVE each other! (I don't think I've ever seen one picture of them together that didn't communicate their love, respect and support of one another.)

P.S. Love the hard candy-blue shoes!

I like the cardigan better this way and love the different shades of blue she has on. Love her flats. They will be an asset in any wardrobe.

LOVE this outfit. I'm going to copy it but with heels. SOOO nice without a belt!

Mrs. O looks great here! I love the fact that she's a master remixer and is not afraid to try something different with her wardrobe.

Mrs Obama is sexy hot!! You can always tell a woman who's well-loved by her husband. She and the President have such chemistry you can literally feel it. Sizzling hot!!!

I love the shoestring/lace-up detail on this sweater/top. It gives a touch of unassuming sensual/sexy to a very pretty look - just imagine those strings being undone - LOL!!! I love it!!

I love cardigans. I knit them myself... so one day perhaps Mrs. O will purchase an orginal from me... seriously I would love to see her embrace some beautiful hand knit cardigans.....they are works of art. I think she looks great for a conference. Love the blues pulled together.

CleverRRRRR!

Call me crazy, but I like this outfit. However, I LOVED it the other way! Oh, FLOTUS is messing with my old and rusty, dusty brain cells! As I said when she wore this earlier, I just knew that I could duplicate this loook for little or nothing. I found an Oscar de la Renta silk scarf on ebay (at a fantastic price) that is really silimar to this blouse. I own a wool blend 3/4 sleeve henley sweater already and the slacks. I'm all set. One thing's for sure, she keeps us on our toes!

Now that's fly. I had to keep looking back and forth to make sure that was really the same shirt. And it is. She puts the "F" in fashion.

I love the reverse look so much that I followed her fashion foot step this past week-end to church. Too bad I cannot post a picture. LOL!

I love this sweater/top combo!! I've searched and searched, and cannot find any information on where to buy it. Does anyone know where I can get this amazing outfit??
