Mystery Persists

Official White House photo by Pete Souza / Flickr Creative Commons
One of our favorite Mrs. O looks of recent months remains a mystery - the divine red dress above. Just today, another person emailed to ask if we knew the designer, and sadly, we don't. If you have an idea of who might be behind this gem, please do tell.
The photo above is a recent addition to the White House Flickrstream. And if you didn't already see it in the comments (or on the Today Show), there is another photo that can't go without mention. Click here to see Ms. Sasha Obama sneaking up on her dad, our president, in the Oval Office. Not Mrs. O fashion, but too adorable to pass up!

Mia Monte: That's exactly what I was saying! That my opinion was just that: mine in a sea of many varying opinions, and that it did not warrant anyone working themselves up over whether that opinion is positive or negative, like obviously many of us tend to do. Check back on your posts and see who is taking him or herself too seriously :) So I would really appreciate that you do not put words in my mouth that I did not actually write. Thanks. It's too funny, that even positive comments are turned into something negative.
Boazwife, thanks for the link (http://photos.essence.com/gallery-images/2009/08/spl117157_002_full.jpg) of the First Lady under the watchful eye of her SS agent, affectionately known on this blog as TBG (Tall Bald Guy). It's good to see TBG again. I haven't seen him with her in a while. Nice to know he is still protecting our First Lady. They do make a lovely pair--and I mean that in the strictest professional sense only.
Wow Bam Bong!! That is one sexy little black dress the first lady is rocking.

Mia Monte: I think you missed Nora's point entirely. No need for nastiness here.
Iva, Mckinley, Julie, Janelle; My sentiments exactly! I also no longer listen to or watch news programs - It is shear madness! (I will however be tuning in to hear President Obama.)
I also now rarely swing by this site...the Christen's, MJMR's, Mara's etc. I simply can't stomach any longer -
Life is so darn short and I choose to live it happily and without contamination from the puke, snort and pus oozing from the "No" brigade -
Amen Lota; I too keep the President, first lady and the kids in constant prayer...Novena masses galore! He will indeed prevail and succeed above and beyond our wildest dreams...
Where on earth is my last post?!
Mia Monte: so funny but so true...She does look so hot and sexy in that black dress - and those sandals rock...
I want that dress! Unfortunately, I don't wear flats, but if those sandals come in 4" heels, I want them too!
IVA, McKinley, Julie, Janelle: My sentiments exactly! I too no longer watch or listen to 'news' programs...the deliberate distortion and misrepresentation are stomach churningly brazen and maddening. I will however be tuning in to hear my President this week-
I also now rarely visit this site unfortunately; the Christen's, MJMR's, Mara's and their ilk - I simply can't stomach any longer...
Life is way too short and I choose happy, pleasant and positive over the yucky contamination from the puke, snort and pus oozing freely from the "No" brigade - even if we're all just pretending that we're simply talking "fashion"...
Amen Lota! I too pray fervently for my ever decent and dignified President, his lovely and amazing first lady and their lovely kids...Novena masses galore-
And in the end, he will indeed prevail and succeed above and beyond our wildest dreams; and this country will be infinitely better off for it-
She wore it before here

Aha! So we located the frock as Kors??! Well DONE Fashionista's.
Oh your right wingers really have their knickers in a twist over this nice man who is doing a lot of good in the world don't they? It's really pathetic. The man has some integrity and they just can't bear it can they? Unbelievable. It's like looking at a playground... all the cowards and bullies are clustered together at one end, trying to work out what to do now that the majority of the children look up to a kid who's a good example. And all they have is bad behaviour to fall back on because they simply don't know how to behave right. It's really... boring.
Ari - thanks for the essence link, that's a great collection of pictures.
boazwife - yes Mrs. O is smokin' hot in that black dress. Her shoes are really interesting...it's hard to make out the design or what's going on with them, but they're different, that's for sure.
Those shoes are pretty interesting. I went through all the pics trying to figure them out. The pic Boazwife linked showed the best view of them. Apparently, it is a shoe with no top, all it has is a strap going across the foot. Very interesting indeed.
Red is so my color! Rock on Mrs O!
dear NANA - If you happen to read his, will you please email me? contact@mrs-o.org
Thanks! Mrs. T
In a recent thread (on Kennedy's funeral, I think) a string of negative comments from people I did not recognize led the way. Those comments were nothing short of "catty." I don't recall what Nora said so I am not necessarily putting her comments in that category.
(Mrs N--Who are you to question whether or not President Obama is truly a "christian"--that is a matter strictly between him and God to determine. I accept him at his word. How do I know that YOU are truly a Christian? God does not reject us as His children because we take a pro choice position. Not the Christianity I was taught. We have several pictures of President Obama attending church like Easter in his pinstripe suit and Michelle in a lovely floral. It's a major production for him to go anywhere and he chooses to let others worship in peace rather than disrupting it. I must say that President Obama is considerably more "christ-like" than the vast majority of those so called Christians on the right criticizing him. From my associations with Christian teachings, I have been left to believe that "all" of us are God's miracles.)
AUDREY: I would really like to know what I may have said that has your knickers in such a twist! I RARELY make negative comments....guess it's your skewed way of looking at what I write which, by the way, is usually much more brief than your comments.
Posh Tater: Well put!
Sharon Nelson: So true! It was the wise Mahatma Ghandi who once proclaimed that as much as he loved and respected Jesus Christ he was unable to embrace Christianity because most so-called "christians" were so unlike their Christ.
It is amazing to watch the wickedness and awfulness exhibited by those so-called "Christians" claiming their fight in the name of 'God'. No different really from the much maligned "islamic terrorists" we alll claim to abhor.
If I were not born and raised Catholic (christian), I could not be converted or convinced today by the despicable words and actions of those who have hijacked it and insist they speak for Christ.
@ Mrs-N. Who designated you to be keeper of the keys to the Kingdom. Where do you get off with your idiotic statement about the President not being a Christian because he's pro-choice. It is so called "Christians" like yourself you are causing people to leave organized religion in droves. You are such an hipocrite. Were you making these same stupid comments regarding your idols like George W. Bush and Ronald Reagan, who rarely went to church and supported such "unchristian-like" policies as cutting the poorest of the poor off public assistance or drastically cutting back on after-school programs for poor children? I bet not! That's why your argument has no merrit and it just reflects the pent-up hate and hostility that people like yourself have towards the President. It's a wonder you find the time to log on to this blog to comment on what the FLOTUS is wearing. On one hand you're commenting on what the FLOTUS is wearing, while declaring categorically that the POTUS is not a "Christian" as you see it. That's nuts; you need to take that type of schizophrenia to one of your Repubs website so you can rant and rave in like-minded company. You certainly do not belong on this one, you're too toxic and we don't need you polluting this blog any further than you've already done.
Hey New Century Woman, TBG sat right behind First Lady Michelle at Ted Kennedy's funeral. He looked cool and alert as always. I even saw him smile hello to Bill Clinton when everyone wished peace and hugged one another. He has a nice smile.
May the other jenna rest in peace. Thanks Nana. I am so touched that even in her passing, she wanted us to remember her and her love for Mrs. Obama.
We love her too. And we love the other jenna. She has moved so many people on this site and I am sure that she was a joy to her family. May she rest in the utmost of peace.
Nana,
Thank you for telling The Other Jenna's community of friends on this site about her passing. We hold her in our hearts. There is a chat room site dedicated to her, and hopefully her family and friends will find a little comfort in knowing there are people in this forum who cared about her and her insights.

Mrs. T -
Could you delete Mrs. N's post. It is offensive and not appropriate.
Thanks
