Business Chic

As part of her push for community health care, First Lady Mrs. O traveled to Bowling Green, VA for a ribbon cutting ceremony at Caroline Family Practice, a community health center that received federal economic stimulus funds.

Mrs. O combined her classics today, wearing a fitted blue sheath dress, adorned with a trio of Erickson Beamon floral brooches at the neckline.

Update: Mrs. O is wearing a Michael Kors blue scoop neck doubleface sheath dress.

Thanks to Janelle for linking to this great video from the event:

Ok...I missed this post when I asked about it in the "Perfect Pair" thread you started.

I am glad you were able to post the video of her. She looked so nice and she's a great advocate for the administration.

What a beautiful look. (and I see TBG, too! ) Everyone looks excited about the clinic & happy to see Mrs. O.

Community Health clinics are needed as a sort of midway point for those without healthcare and the other option, which is to go to the ER. I've been without health care in the past (and now am glad to have it, but payments are crazy. More than triple my monthly mortgage!) and it's scary situation to be in.

Beautiful! I love the color, and the fit is perfect. When I see her wearing something which shows how sleek and toned she is, I wonder why she would ever wear anything else. The black, white, and scarlet is also stunning.

Oh, wow! Absolutely love the brooches and the fabulous color of the dress. Up with brooches!

I like this blue dress and its fit. Aren't those broaches the ones depicted on the Mrs. O-inspired T-shirt pictured here?

Another Wow! Mrs O looks good in any color and I love this gorgeous blue. I have tried the three brooches look and enjoy it. I am anxious to see who all these designers are.

Her lovely brooches make a comeback. It's a rare thing that I think a dress is too tight on her, but this looks a bit snug through the torso. That fixed, I actually think this outfit would have been perfect for the parade the other night. The look is more evening than daytime.

TBG makes an cameo! I missed ya, big guy.

She wore the brooches at the last debate with the same shade of blue dress but a different style: form fitting but a higher neckline and hint of a cap sleeve. You identify them with the ad on this site with the necklace because that is how she wore them at the debate. This is the debate where McCain came over trying to shake Barack's hand while he was still busy embracing Michelle.

I disagree with those who insist that Michelle should have worn more formal wear at the Marine parade. That was not a formal evening event. They sat in a grandstand outdoors mostly in the dark and the president wore the same attire he had worn throughout the day. The commander had on his dress uniform (would have looked weird in fatigues), but his wife was not overly dressy. Michelle looked great. I loved her outfit and thought it was very fitting. The President appeared to be very happy to be with her.

This is a beautiful outfit and I'm very pleased to see the lovely brooches having an outing. They look fabulous on this blue. Numnumnum.

I love it when Mrs O wears fitted dresses, they show her figure off so well. I think this has a little bit of stretch in it, which looks quietly sexy.

And yes - the content of this clip is as good as the outfit!

Posh, I think it is a sexy (but not trying to be) dress. In my lifetime, I have never seen a sexy First Lady for America. I think it's GREAT!!

P.S. Her hubby is pretty sexy too.

Wow, I must be turning into a fashion expert! I just saw another picture of this dress and said that looks like Michael Kors. Came back on here to check, and sure enough, its Michael Kors. lol

The lines and cut around her shoulders reminded me of the hot pink Michael Kors dress she wore to the White House Correspondents dinner.

Doubleface fabric has give to it - and, who knows, nowadays it probably even has spandex in it. I think that's what Ms. Stylist was seeing when she commented above that it looked too snug in the torso. The ripples you see when she moves around are just the fabric adjusting to that movement. To my eye, the dress fits to perfection (I'd expect nothing less from Mr. Kors).

She had an A++ day yesterday - two great looks.

Michelle looks beautiful here---and even better are her remarks.

"To my eye, the dress fits to perfection " opfan
Quite so. Couldn't agree more. My first thought was 'there's a touch of lycra in that'.

The dress is cute and in a nice color. However, I'm not feeling the three brooches at all.

Beautiful and intelligent...what more could you ask for?

Very pretty. This style really suits her. Agree w/MsG: The black, white, and scarlet (she wore l8r that night) is also stunning.

Lovely dress--she always looks like a pro but, couldn't disagree more with her ideas on health care "rights"--the Constitution doesn't include health care in Governments' affairs . Let's get back to where we came from Mrs. O.
